I think even if the match goes on for another 500 minutes, he would still be running and chasing.

I think the entire chavs backline must be thinking we were playing with 4 forwards as every time each one of them had the ball, kuyt would be hounding them down.

Imagine Terry got the ball - kuyt appeared in front of him. Terry passed the ball out to ivanovic, kuyt immediately closed ivanovic down. Ivanovic, under pressure, switches play to the other side of the pitch to ashley cole, and before cole knew it, kuyt was there closing him down. And cole loses possession under pressure. Kuyt was immense and I honestly don't know how big his reserve tank is. Even up till the 93rd minute, he was bursting everywhere like a hound. He's every backline's nightmare.

I think he ran and harassed the defenders more in one match than incredible sulk did all season!

Thing is MR up to Kenny's return I'm sure there was just about a need for every position on the pitch to need a replacement! Now it's as if everybody is twice the player they were!

Kuyt is certainly well down the list on areas that need thinking about for new personnel!

Everyone would agree in terms of footballing ability he is lacking but the effort and attitude is second to none. Moretimes infuriating but wouldn't swap him for any mercenary in the world...legend

He is truly a workhorse, its just sad he isn't a bit gifted but no one is perfect. Also, anyone think a Suarez-Kuyt partnership might work? I know the intention is to have Carroll-Suarez but having another weapon on our hands sure wouldn't hurt. I don't know about you guys but when Suarez came in I just saw a glimpse of what they can do together. Suarez and Kuyt I think are perfect for each other as they are kind of friends.

he is frustrating to watch sometimes but you have got to love him. the lad has an outrageous engine on him and in games like that away at stamford bridge where the whole side had to work their socks off, he epitomises our performance.

however, he does have the touch of a baby elephant and the vision of stevie wonder.

but i would never sell him. he's a top class asset to the team.

sorry to double post but just wanted to add something else

i think suarez is obviously a more gifted footballer than kuyt is but in the 30mins we seen of him against stoke he showed similar commitment. he tracked back and worked hard. he was all over the place and it was encouraging to see him link well with dirk kuyt.

andy carroll will show a similar level of dedication i hope. where torres used to sulk and disapeer in games i think carroll's mentality and presence will make him a constant threat.

its these qualities we need in the side. a never say die and never back down attitude that will have us climbing up the table in no time.

Kuyt is unique however he frustrates me at times i don't like to see him dropped him out, he should work a little on his passing though

He's one of the biggest hearted players I have ever seen - I can't think of anybody who gives so much for the cause - he's a Trojan and people who call for him to be sold on are crazy - we should keep him for the rest of his career cause even at 40 he'll be running around like he's possessed.

the difference has been the fact we have a player up front who will actually put in a shift. ok not world class by any stretch of the imagination but every team needs a work horse and Kuyt is that.
