Agree its early days and how many better debuts than that have turned to dust after 1 /2 years. But its clear we have not got a dud talent wise and like others have said I am very much looking forward to seeing much more of him. I fancy him to score against Chelsea and over shadow Torres. Not because I think he better than Torres (which he is not at he moment, empasise the word moment) but because football can be like that.

No I think Torres will work his [oops] off in Sunday. The question is will he continue to do it especially once his fragile ego is upset which it will give it 3 months.

The principles were all right, just need to get back to fitness. He's going to give defenders a hard time.

Johnboy, I hope you mean analysed laugh

Also, it is not nit-picking. It is judging things in a balanced way. Some people are going on about one nice touch, should I call that nit-praising?! It's ridiculous that some people want to drown out the other side of the argument. There are more than enough people saying how great he was. I'm adding some balance to this, and pointing out things that weren't so great.

I didn't say Suarez can't shoot. I said it was a weak shot. People read what they want to read. Not what I posted.

Nit picking spelling too I see. Pity you had to edit your post.

What's there to debate about concerning the second goal. It ended up in the net and that is all that counts.

I don't think you're looking for a debate. You just think you know it all.

Yes could be worse ngog would have rounded the keeper and fell over or just smashed it wide then laughed. The lad has big potential he was so happy and maybe just so keen to impress his shot was weak but great movement and composure to round the keeper like that then I think he got a bit excited with the shot which he will soon get rid of the nerves and just smash them in. I like the lad and think he will be a top player hope he starts with kuyt on Sunday.

any debut a player is filled with angst and a sense of wanting to do well. For me I was impressed by how simple he kept his play. He would receive, pass then move and offer again. Not rocket science but talented players aka Babel would often show great skill then go an adrenalin filled all or nothing runs usually ending with the latter.
Also Suarez he used trickery in the right areas, in and around the box defenders are more nervous and therefore a flick or backheel is more productive. He did not do this and hope it would come off(ala Garcia), he looked first, massive difference in my view. he will be great

After watching again the videos on suarez , (admittedly youtube and koptalk videos which well edited make most average players look better than they really are), i think he may prove to be more important for us than torres. He looks more skilfull than fowler and he seems to be more positive in his play than torres, in the sense that torres often kept the ball for a second then passed it when he saw his options. This suarez seems to get rid of the ball much faster than torres. I would like to say better than fowler as in many ways they are similar, Fowler was known for his lethal finishing, Suarez seems sto have that with a little more technical ability. We could have someone here that does a better job than torres, and finishes as lethally as fowler. Not bad!

Cant really judge the guy yet but showed some skill and composure to round the keeper against stoke where players without confidence just try and hit it which usually ends up straight at the keeper.

But like above i can only judge by videos and the world cup and he seems like he has the technical ability, composure in front of goal so hopefully he will turn into our next star.
