Surprised not to see a thread on Suarez and how he did and how you think he will do. Was at Anfield last night and came away optimistic for first time in years. He came on first touch a welcome to the premiership moment when he has put on his backside. But then he settled in and given he has not even trained yet with the squad the signs looked very good. I know you need to be middle aged to fully appreciate this comment but you know who he reminds me off Keegan! Keegan was fast, prodigious work rate, got goals and was one of the best link up players in the world at that time, if not the best. Suarez looks a clone of him and as we all know Keegan linked up with a big target man and was up there with the Rush / Dalglish partnership. You won’t like this though but what I did think on way home last night what Suarez would have been like with a fit, interested Torres. It would have been unplayable for defences with the guile and speed. But that options gone and I guess academic but hell this is a forum so we can debate anything. Anyway all to look forward to now we now have a world class player up front who is interested, bring it on!

This lad is said to be unfit coming from the Dutch league, and Kenny's interview he said that Suarez hadn't had the oppertunity to train with the lads because of admin stuff.

In saying that, some of his touches were excellent, off the ball movement savage. His shot on goal was a little weak but he'll sort this out quickly. This lad looks like he'll settle in quite easily.

Things picked up since Kenny came back. With the arrival of Suarez and Carroll still to come, Like Yazoo the only way is up!

Can't wait to see these pair in action against the Scum. But first bring on the Chavs!

very lively but it was his debut so the adrenaline would have been do most of the work he is always on the move so should do well in our new pass and move style

Just read in the Daily Rag, that his goal last night was exactly to the minute of being on the field for the first time that t****s rat lad 2 scored his first goal too.
Bit of useless info, but still. whistle

Anyone else thinking aqua man would fit in well with our new system?

As for Suarez. He looked sharp seeing as he hasn't played for so long. His movement will cause a lot of teams problems. Can't wait to see more of him...

He was unbelievable, I thought as soon as he came in he was ganna disapear but he really impressed. He looked like a player who has played in the epl and in liverpool for a long time, It was pure class. I really hope that Carroll can get back quickly and form a formidable partnerships with him.

Very true. Looks like a very exciting prospect.
Hasn't even had time to train with the rest of the squad yet either!
It'd be oh so so so so sweet if he could score against the chavs next Sunday to rub rat lad 2's nasty little trough stained piggy snout in it. grin

Was it a mere coincidence that the team suddenly appeared to 'turn the wick up' when he started warming up on the line, and the fans starting cheering towards him?

I am actually quietly excited about his future contributions, and I tell you, THE GROWLER IS NOT in the habit of getting excited about ANYTHING usually. eek

Suarez always struck me as a short fella but he is like 6ft! the whole team will short now though with relation to Andy Carroll.

Thought his tenasity and hunger to play yesterday was excellent and everything you want from a new LFC signing, remeber he could have not played last night he had more than enough cause to ask to sit it out!
