Utd signed Van Nistelrooy even after a major career threatening injury and look how that turned out. For goodness sake RELAX, injuries occur it's part of the game. Do you not think this would have been considered before hand?

Half as good would make him better than any striker we have had since Fowler. (I do rate Torres but have always been concerned by his attitude).

Well said. Rossi is a decent player and striker but I fail to see why if he is worth £30m Carroll is not. Personally my opinion is neither of them are but modern football is crazy. We have now made a statement that we will spend to compete, whether we have spent wisely remains to be seen. Then again who says Torres will light up the Bridge. All will be revealed.
