As much as I admire the belief that any player who isn't 100% committed should be booted out, I would be absolutely sickened to see him go. Getting Suarez was a step forward, and Torres going would be two steps back. Don't get me wrong I hate the petulant, lazy, puerile Torres we've seen so much of lately, but there's no finer sight than the Torres ripping through the heart of Chelsea or Man U's defences.
On the other hand, what the hell is he thinking putting his request in now?! Such awful awful timing. To me, it shows a huge lack of respect to the fans. The same fans who have given him such adulation, sing his name from the stands every week, even when he barely be arsed to remain conscious. I guess I just cant get my head round why you'd leave a club where every child in the stand idolises and adores you, for the sake of an extra £40k a week and no guarantee of silverware. The lack of loyalty and mindblowingly massive amounts of money being thrown about is a very ugly feature of the modern game. Its really putting me off football.
By the way, if he scores against us when we play them on the 6th I will go absolutely bonkers.
