should liverpool take his number 9 shirt off him and give it to suarez for the way he has wanted to leave us??
Id still love Robbie Fowler back me always said it, i think alot of you would.. even if its to help the kids and play the odd game if needed. if kenny is wanting to dig into the academy and reserves, i think it would help....
i think fowler would be needed right now to inject some more passion & pride into nando.....

I can't get my head around the events of the last 24 hours. We have had hope, joy and despair all thrown at us aboard the emotional rollercoaster ride that is LFC. I've been spinning ideas in my head of why he would want to leave a club where he is worshiped through thick and thin. FSG are just proving their intensions by almost matching our record transfer fee to bring in one of the hottest prospects in world football.
Torres wanted new owners. He got it.
Torres clearly wasn't happy under Hodgson. He got sacked and was replaced by the king.
He wanted us to start signing quality players. We have.
I just don't get it! He obviously loves LFC. You can tell that by the YNWA band tatoo on his arm. I won't turn on him whatever happens, I wouldn't have been this tolerant if you would have asked me yesterday when my emotions were running high. But we have to respect he is a top player and he wants to challenge for trophies. Something we look a long way from at the moment.
My fear is that I believe Torres for us is irreplacable. Whether people accept it or not he is our best player by a considerable distance. Since Torres joined Liverpool he has scored more goals from then until now than any other player in that same period. Even with all the injuries he has been plagued with he is still has over a 10 goal lead on second placed Drogba.
The void left by torres will also put huge pressure on the player bought in to replace him. He is the player every striker in the next decade is going to be compared with, he is now the benchmark with which every player will be judged. There are two forwards I can think of that would probably do a good job of replacing him, but our chances of actually getting them is nigh on impossible.
At the end of the day we HAVE to keep him. I fear him leaving will cause us to lose Reina too, it's well known they are great friends. I just hope LFC do everything to keep him he is the best of the best, to progress we have to keep him, and build on the great spine of the team that is already there

Torres is not irreplaceable. Get it right. He is a top top player but in this day and age, there is only one irreplaceable and he plays for Barcelona.

He is irreplacable because the very few players that have the quality he does will never come here. So to be brutally honest he is

its a shame because the majority of us were still supporting through his hard times this season. just when everything was looking more positive. hodgson goes, kenny gets us winning and gets torres scoring, we sell babel and then sign luis suarez and now this.
a lot of fans like myself stuck by him when some people were callin him a waster. we all know what hes capable of and chelsea do too. its a real shame, i hope he does a gerrard u turn. gerrard might play a huge part if he is stay. really hope he doesn't leave but if he does then life goes on. we will have another star striker.
its crazy its come so late in the transfer window. i know chelsea are likely to get a champions league place and our season is pretty much a write off. but chelsea have been very unimpressive this season. they need to bolster their defence before their attack imo but anelka and drogba are getting on a bit now and there aren't many other prolific strikers on the market now dzeko has moved to city

Anyone old enough to remember when Rush left will know that no player is bigger than the club (I know its not the same circumstances as Torres). If he goes LFC will dust its self off and I have fate that the new owners will give all the money to Kenny to spend.
The issue I have with this whole thing is the way it has been carried out. Its clear that this deal didn't come about last week or in the last month even. As with all bussiness that Chelsea are involved in, it happened at the world cup. A lot of sites are saying that Torres people meet with RA at the world cup (anybody remember Gerrard at the Euros a few years back). The timing of the bid on FA cup weekend, NO game for the fans to vent there anger, No press conference for Kenny to tell Chelsea to run and jump, No time to prepare any replacement. All to make Torres look so bad that LFC would have to sell him.
Its bad bad form, And worst of all is the fact that Chelsea are not and can never be Liverpool, Utd, or even a Celtic of the football world, so it can only be money. His agent has to make one big Killing on Torres and this is it

Back to Back World Champions baby!
