what do you think is going to happen, rooney is going to punch her and she'll start crying? i cant see any reason why it wont happen. in fact i think if the fa said no society would have a field day with THAT. Actually if they said no, the majority of the public wouldn't give a hoot. And no, Rooney would just swear at her, shout at her, and there would be situations where the team would surround her. Can you imagine a small 5f4 woman surrounded by 6ft shouting and swearing men? What a sight that would be. Never going to happen, never going to work.

yea but the point is, maybe it would curb the behaviour of players. its not like players cant control themselves, they do it in rugby. they just need an incentive. if fifa would just get up off their arse and enforce laws in the game we wouldnt have the problem in soccer. like said above, its not a problem in rugby.

like said above, its not a problem in rugby. True but they've already tried the respect campaign, and it's utterly failed. From the grass roots up, refs have no respect whatsoever. It's systemic within the game itself. I personally dont want to see a woman subjected to some of the animals in football, maybe it's my upbringing, but I'm sensitive to women being put in that position.

ah they'll be grand. fifa does the whole respect thing but its a bit half arsed. if you give a ref more authority on the field, simple rule of only the captain speaks to him, yellows for anyone else, i think you'd see a marked difference. but that scumbag blatter loves all the drama and sleaze that happens in the game of soccer (that was for you wakka)

Fair point Fowler,nobody wants to see anyone abused really,I would think there are plenty of women interested in reffing in the PL,stronger laws and technology would help to,Blatter would laugh in your face if you asked him about female refs.
