Given we dont appear to have any money, which forwards, under a limit of say £7m would you sign?

There has in fact been little change as over the past few years often the final decision has always been about who we can afford.

As a slight aside Dirk Kurt, £9m, what a bargain :-)

Tuncay Sanli from Boro - available for around 6mil. Bargain. Captain of a very strong Turkish National Team - very versatile, and an extremely hard-working individual. Very surprised he aint already left the gloom of Middlesbrough.

missed out on martins... went for 10m
other than that, not sure. gudjohnsen would be my choice. 30 years old, lots of experience and proven goal scorer. available for a small fee aswell

Missed out on Mancratwat too, and he'd have cost us diddly squat.
Let's not go down that road YET again however, as my bladder is starting to boil.

Missed out on Saviola too

wat about raul yes old but will be good when we have loads of games and can score good and he is Torres hero and will make him happy.

Owen is a major gamble, and possibly a threat to our squad harmony. Saviola is maybe too lightweight to achieve any success in the Premiership, and Raul has just sigend a 'Contract-for-Life' with Madrid whereby, if he plays over 30 games in a season his contract is immediately renewed for the next season.

Couldn't agree more. Very good at Boro and playing with the likes of Torres and Gerrard would only improve him. Get in there Rafa...

Should have signed Owen. I can't see why anyone would think he is a gamble. He is only a gamble if you need him to play lots of games, which we wouldn't. Oh well.

Raul would do no better than Morientes. He'd never adapt now.

Real Madrid have a squad that is too big. They must have a couple of strikers going fairly cheap

That is exactly my point Ricardo. Owen seems to be the type of player to kick-off and ultimately disrupt things if he isn't played enough. Hence the gamble of signing him in the first place. Look to the future, remember the past!
