I want the fella back in our midfield. He keeps the ball moving and dictates the way the team plays. Would be good for Stevie and Torres to have him back with his superb vision. We've the missed the guy terribly - could he be tempted back?

He still attends our games when he can, still loves the club no doubt. But he's 1st team for Real, and Mourinho said Xabi is the one he'd never take out the side, he's that important to controlling the teams play. So it will never happen.

Maybe when he's 35 and washed up and we are in the championship we'd have a chance of getting him lol

it would be great to have him back but i cant see it weve sold our best players to service debt and that is why we are a poor team lets all be honest i hate to say this but they will be no european football next season. we need major investment and it doesnt look like mr henry wants to oblidge.

Sorry, but if he truly loved the club he would not have left. He would have made his peace with Rafa somehow, not gone out and proved he was a better player than the manager (and the fans) thought and then left to go play in a league where there are only two clubs. He can rot in Spain along with Mascherano and however else thought they were (are) bigger than Liverpool FC.

rafa drove alonso out thats why he left rafa also had the chance to build bridges with alonso at a formal dinner and refused to make up and thats what made alonso decide he wanted out.

Xabi always said the only reason he left us was because of rafa and was actually very happy at Liverpool where his son was born and loved living in the city. But he couldn't play for a manager who didn't want him there.

I think he could be tempted back if Liverpool showed it's intnet on and off the field.

Please don't equate Alonso and Mascherano. One wanted to stay and was happy here but ostracized by the manager. The other never kept his mouth shut about wanting to leave and also REFUSED TO PLAY FOR US.

Alonso coming back would be about the best signing we could make. Genius of a player who makes everyone around him seem better. His departure was the start of our slide, get him back!
