I think you are all misinterpreting Reclaims posts about OTT. What he is saying (as I understand it) is not that Liverpool supporters are not welcome from wherever they come but that the success of LFC has brought many fans from outside the area who support the club but then leave when the bad times come. That is a fair and legitimate comment to make and a long way from saying only scousers can support LFC as some have on this site have done in the past. I would say this about reclaim at least he puts some thought into his posts and they are from his own experience of attending games over decades. Contrast some of the other posters who it seems can only contribute puerile one line insults saying nothing whatsoever sometimes it resembles a teenager twitter site on here. As for the OTT stance re the supporters coming and going I actually think he is wrong because even though we have had consistent bad times the fan base and support has held up. It’s also not true that the support is historically Liverpool centric because I know from my dad and granddad people used to travel to watch LFC from all around the North West in the 1930’s even. However the worldwide / national wide support is a more recent phenomenon of the last 25 years.
I would never say Out of Town fans are not welcome at Anfield, they are important to the Club and play a major part in the fabric of this. My point is because of the success we have had in the past it has encouraged Out Of Town and Foreign fans to start supporting us and because they spend more money the Club targeted these fans at the expense of Local fans who are now in a minority regarding matchday fans. The other point I try to make on here is although many on here come from outside the City your motives for supporting are creditable but there are thousands who go whose motives are no more than gloryhunting. I know they sit in front of me every home game in the posh seats, kids 3 years of age who have'nt a clue whats going on sitting on there mum and dads knee with there seat next to them empty, leaving 5 mins before half time then coming back 10-15 minutes into the second half after being in the free bar, your not telling me these are proper football fans, there are far to many of these fans attending games now and it's wrong...
