Bear in mind we played 60 minutes with ten men a few days ago and we've got the derby in a few days as well.
Blackpool won that game in midfield. Poulsen might as well have not been there, Jovanovic did very little, and Meireles had a bit of a nightmare, constantly losing possession. Credit to Blackpool, they're organised, they play good football and they were on form tonight. With those three players going missing we weren't going to win barring a lot of luck, especially as we seemed to start losing a bit of energy as the second half went on. In that regard, we did well to finish 2-1, thanks to Kelly, Torres, Reina, and Lucas in particular.
As for defense, our back four are not actually that bad technically, but they're not on the same wavelength. Most (not all) of the goals that are being blamed on one of them are actually due to several of them, they're not covering for each other. This is partly due to lacking a leader there I reckon (Carragher) - out of the back four tonight, none of them stand out as the leader 'type'. But this is something that can be worked on. Bring back Sami as a coach!
On that note, Kenny has had all of four days to work with the team. Steve Clarke has had less. Despite that lack of time, our overall approach was a lot more encouraging than it has been under Roy - we were pressing higher up the pitch, hoofing the ball less, there was a lot more movement off the ball and more passing opportunities. I expect to see more improvement as they have more time to get the team used to playing actual football again, and not hoof'n'hope.
So overall, I remain hopeful. Bring on the derby.

Personally i think its all positive at the minute. Aside from tonights result did we really want kenny coming in and saying he needed 50m and 6 new players in the transfer window. Something thats bugged me about our club (and its probably a continuation from the souness era) is that every transfer window we expect 5/6 new signings in the hope that 2/3 might turn out decent. Rafa sort-of half got there when he had the money ie torres/alonso/mascher but hodgson just wanted to throw lots of [oops] and hope some of it stuck! Work with what we have and get the right players to honour the red shirt and lets not have anymore stopgap [oops] dishonouring the shirt.

so disgusting to see a liverpool fan talk about dalglish that way. you really are just a sad old geezer looking for attention arent you. why dont you just get it over with, go round to hodgson's house and give him a good rodgering, because you seem to be in the grip of a bromance. So what am I supposed to do say Dalglish is the best manager since sliced bread just because of what he has done in the past, no chance he gets judged now not the past simply not and it's 2 games 2 defeats good enough. I watched the game and Blackpool were comfortable, they were having shots from the half way line and showboating which says it all. This manager was brought in because the previous one was said to be not good enough, fair enough, but this one now has been exactly the same no different at all. I can see him jumping ship soon with a couple of more results like this afterall he does have history of quitting when the going gets tough... Bollox. That game on Sunday was a piggin' draw, only won on paper by them by default...and conning their 12th player in black on the field. Oh yes, and who else thinks that Blackpool played vastly superior to the scum, cus I did.

look guys here's how im thinking.... ive purposely not posted anything about kenny taking over and i am not sticking up for RECLAIM THE MANC but ive got a sinking feeling.... this squad of players are not playing for the managers, the fans, there team mates or even there-selves so thats only going to end one way. us playing championship football.. dont think it cant happen, go and check out the squads of forest, leeds and newcastle when they went down they were better than what we have now... my other big fear is if kenny cant turn this round and steady the ship soon, will we appoint a permanent manager who will be a panic choice and end up with another 2nd rate man.....
don't be a hater. take the banter

What to do then?
Melt down Konchesky, Poulsen, Jova, Meireles, N'Gog, Babel, Maxi, Johnson and Skittles...
Take out what is good (not much TBQH) and re assemble 1-2 good players out of the stinking fluid?
Can You get pigs flying?

you dont have to say he is the best in the world. you just have to show some respect for the greatest player to ever wear the shirt, and one of the three best managers we ever had. whats wrong with you.
the right people are in place to sort this out now, so just be patient. No we are Liverpool Football Club we are not patient with managers we are now known for that. Dalglish messed up big time tonite with his team selection he needs critism for that, the football tonite was shocking as bad if not worse then when Hodgson was in charge, Blackpool looked like Barcelona. If this man stays in charge I really think we could get relegated, he just has'nt a clue he is so far out of his depth it's untrue, Johnson left back, Meireles wide right and Poulson and jovanovic back in the team when both have not started League games for weeks...

yes we definitely played better today than we did against blackburn and newcastle etc. still not good enough though. but yes, i remain hopeful as well but i think it's vital that we add at least 2 quality players before the end of the month.
