I must admit that after posting that I thought, "it looks good on paper but there is no way they'll have any idea what they are doing and we'll just fall to pieces."

So scratch that. Maybe Konchesky will be ok with instructions different to Hodgson's "when the ball carrier runs at you, run away". Maybe that's too hopeful, but I'm sure at some stage in his career he knew to not back off so much.

I think Kenny is that good, he will even get Konch to look like a footballer!

It's a big ask but i think he could do it.

lets not forget meireles is a defense minded player who can come up with a goal from time to time (yet to be seen), i think at home we should play him with gerrard not with lucas(although lucas doin well,enough).. to defensive an lacts serious creativity. this gives the chance to play shelvey or pacheco in the hole. for aways games on the other hand i can see the reasoning for it. good winger, striker and left back and our season is back on track! get ur finger out NESV

I like the sentiment, but what about Sunday? With the exception of Johnson for Gerrard that's the same team that just played vs scum, and will want to be played again in another 5 days in the derby. You can only sub 3 of those, and Meireles may not be fully fit, and Aurelio might break a nail and be out for 6 weeks.

I think if he started that Blackburn game we wouldnt have conceded as much, the amount of work he puts in defensively should grant him a starting spot everytime.

Konch maybe the wrong side of useless in terms of his ability to be Liverpool Standard but he is still a Full Back...

I Don't think he can risk playing aurelio so he might not have a choice but to play Konch.
