I mentioned this earlier on in the thread wilki but knowone got onto it, i don't know much about him either tbh, watched him on youtube abit, he seems like decent backup for Torres, he's not world class from what i have seen, id rather have suarez.

Negredo had a good season last season, but dont know whether he is a consistent performer over the years. Surely we should be linked with better than him though

He looked out of sorts positionally to me. He ran hard when we didn't have possession, closed them down, caused problems; they looked lost in midfield when we attacked the ball. I think Torres was actually out of his element - when last did we have someone not named Torres running at and beating their left back and crossing from the byline? I think he couldn't remember how to be a striker, seeing as how he's been forced to be a playmaker all season. He'll get his mojo back once he understands we need him to do his old job again.

what pisses me off more than anything in the winter window is every website (including this one) links us with just about every one. Unfortunately with the system fifa brought in it means clubs don't usually do big business in Jan. BUT sites like goal.com, soccernet, tribalfootball and the skysports and bbc websites have rumours and gossip sections which talk absolute rubbish.

NEgredo, Suarez, Lukaku, Sanchez, Hazard, Adebayor, Honda, Gomez, Wickham, we have been linked with so many quality players but you know what....... I reckon we will sign nobody! At least nobody who will go straight into the first team.

You're right tho, Maddog. Every day I see us linked with another 75m pounds worth of players. I have no idea who we are actually interested in, and am almost certain to be surprised at whoever we actually sign. So sick of people making sh*t up just to get a handful more readers - doesn't anyone care about the truth anymore?

and what bugs me more is that sites that used to REPORT NEWS like BBC and skysports are now just regurgitating the crap of other websites.

It's difficult but we should ignore the gossip.
We probably won't know we've signed someone until we see them at Melwood! a bit like the Steve Clarke signing.

Ye the Liverpool of old never give much away... people didn't know we had accuired a player until the club decided they wanted the press to know.

I just hope we sign a couple of top class players, we really need that boost in the squad, and it will be a signal of intent from us and its needed if we are going to begin to rise from the ashes and be great again.
