topscout has just made this up.
maybe?
But as unlikely as seems lest we remember LFC was sold for significantly lower than it was estimated worth. Hicks (and others)were spot on when he said the valuation was much higher - nearer 450mil. The debt forced the sale.
If all is not what it seems and you have invested only the capital then selling for a tidy profit IS possible. Broughtons job was to get both value for the shareholders(Hicks/Gillete) but also what was best for LFC. NESV offered the best deal for both, However NESV now own LFC and can do what they please.
One key thing which has been highlighted in recent months is the amount of money required to turn LFC back into a top team is nearer 150mil than 50-75mil as first banded around, all before the stadium has even been touched. Maybe NESV sense the sale would offer a quicker return? One thing we do know is that Hicks/Gillete struggled to sell LFC not because lack of interest but more because of lack of trust by potential buyers. NESV offer a far more attractive selling entity to potential buyers. The amount of interest in the middle east generated by the Man City and the succesful Qatar world cup bid should not be undersestimated. Alot of wallets are starting to open again.
whilst personally i think it is highly unlikely, it is certainly not fairy tale stuff either.
