What we needed was a clean sweep of the club and start from scratch Moores, Parry, Hicks, Gillette, Benitez and the whole of the backroom staff. No point in just keeping some of them because it just defeats the objective, we needed them all out and to put all this sorry mess behind us with a fresh start and new era.

No Benitez was as guilty as the two yanks in publicaly dragging our good name through the mud with his famous " am coaching my players " rant we never used to wash our dirty linnen in public before he took over as manager.

Rafa wouldn't have had to come out and say that if they were not looking at Klinsman. They went behind his back.
Do you think we would have been better off with Klinsman?
I think not

It's something we have known for a long time but it's depressing to hear it from sources close to the club.

The two owners would not of been doing whats right for Liverpool Football Club if they did not investigate other managers. I think you have forgotten about what had happend at the time, Benitez had done his usual and spat his dummy out because he never got his own way over transfers, money or how the club was being run by Parry and would'nt rule himself out of the running for the Madrid job when it became available. If you remember rightly he also never ruled himself taking over the England job either when Erikson left, this constantly lifting his skirt to other jobs left the owners with no choice but to explore other avenues and i would fully expect any owner of my football club to do exactly the same thing again when they were getting blackmailed by a fat Spanish waiter who was trying to hold the club to ransom.

Ged you are a fanatic and seem only to have one thing to say- and its always negative... dont you think its time to get behind the team? Rafa is the boss and will remain so for at least this season unless things go disastrously wrong.

Nice post and everything but it doesn't really work for me I'm afraid Dunk.

Benitez has shown time and again that if he is not happy about something, money in particular, then he makes it very very clear! If the money was supposedly there and then suddenly not there anymore then he would have been bleating about it in the press by now. But he hasn't has he?

My understanding is just that he is fairly happy with the squad. We might need reinforcements - to my mind up front is a priority - but maybe, just maybe he is reluctant to rush out and buy in case he finds himself in another Robbie Keane type situation.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if we see another player or 2 arrive before the end of the month, or even in January. Looking back at Benitez's record, he doesn't always do his transfer dealings before a ball has been kicked. He waits to see how its looking first.

People are worrying unnecessarily I'm sure of it.

Can't help but agree with you Dunk. The Americans are in it for the money and to be fair i dont believe they had a clue what they were buying. They have over extended their loans and the market has turned against them. In a nutshell they don't know what to do, their American pride gets in the way of cutting their losses and greed drives them on.

Yes in order to compete we do need to buy someone of Villa's class and more, are squad is tiny and the quality range is massive. You can't no matter hoe devout put Fernando Torres and David Ngog in the same class. Sorry but you just can't!
It's sad, and my faith will never wain, but i'm afraid as i said many years ago on the VIP section, Yankee Go Home.
