Dinamo Zagreb midfielder Ante Ćorić has confirmed that he has rejected a transfer to Liverpool.
The 19-year-old Croatian had agreed personal terms with the Reds but pulled out of a medical opting instead to remain with his current club to help their European campaign.
Asked about Liverpool’s interest, he said: “I am happy such big clubs want me but I want to play with my favourite team in the Champions League.
“It was up to me to decide, all I needed to do was a medical, but I want to stay at Dinamo, where I can give a lot more.”
It is claimed that a Liverpool official had been in Croatia over the last few days meeting with the player’s representative Andy Bara but the Reds have been unable to sign the deal off.
