Yes I thought Hodgson messed up big time with the team tonite, still cant believe he brought Gerrard back in, cant believe he keeps playing Johnson instead of Kelly and why he split the NGog and Babel partnership up which done so well against Villa for a dirty sh*thouse like Torres who wont even run for the Club, and how he continues to play the woeful Kuyt and Skirtel. Thought Reina has had a shocking season by his standards and tonite that continued and the cheering when Konchesky was taken off was Newcastle like from our third rate fans which would never of happend years ago to one of our own players no matter how bad he was playing, just cant defend Hodgson tonite am afraid

Under-fire Roy Hodgson has blasted Liverpool's supporters for not supporting the team after his side suffered another humiliating defeat at the hands of Wolves.

Mick McCarthy’s Wanderers heaped further misery on the Anfield club after Stephen Ward’s goal condemned them to their eighth defeat of the season.

The home fans were understandably angry about the loss to the side who, before the match, were bottom of the Premier League, and made their feelings known during the game and at the final whistle.

Chants for Liverpool legend Kenny Dalglish rung around Anfield and a chorus of boos greeted the defeat but Hodgson insists it is nothing new and asked the fans to keep supporting the club in the bad times.

He said: "I'm getting used to the negativity. Kenny [Dalglish] was a rival for the job and it was given to me. He's a Liverpool legend.

"But I don't like it. It's the Kop's way of showing they are not happy with what the team is doing. We've had to live with negativity ever since I came here.

"The famous Anfield support has not really been there – there were problems with the owners and they have been singing for Kenny.

"I can only hope these 'fans' become 'supporters' as well because this is a time when the club needs support.

"The negativity does affect confidence."

Hodgson revealed he was disappointed with how his players reacted after an extended break because of the winter weather disruptions.

"Disappointing is the buzzword at the moment. There is not a stronger word than that," he added.

"We came here hoping we would fly around the field and play well but we did the opposite. It's as bad a team performance as we've given, certainly here at Anfield.

"Rather than a disappointing 0-0 we let them in to score for an even more disappointing 0-1. That compounded the problem.

"Credit to Wolves, their gameplan was good. They won challenges. I don't think we had the tempo to our game to say we deserved anything more than we got."

Despite the lacklustre defeat the former Fulham boss insists his side are desperate to show the fans they can move up the table.

He added: "It's a sad way to end 2011. We were desperate to show the supporters we can move up the table and we let them down.

"They made that perfectly clear to us. I can only empathise – if I was a supporter I would be extremely disappointed.

"But I've seen times like this. I have belief in my own ability, the players are working hard to bring me and the club success.

"It's going to be picking them up after they didn't do the job tonight."

thats it roy keep digging mate

pretty much agree with everything said there emp. the bottom line is, the squad is not good enough, far from it. some people just don't realise that and they will be disappointed when the new manager comes in because not a single manager in the world will get a top 4 spot with this squad.

the manager is always the first to go and after tonights performance it's definitely time for roy to leave. but we need massive reinforcement over the coming year/years if we're going to compete at the highest level again.

skrtel- see above

johnson- shaky again ,good going forward, dodgy attitude. will probably be gone soon.

kuyt- not a winger, defo not a left winger, not a striker really either.needs to get gone

lucas- has improved but he is still never a liverpool player.needs sold ,doesn't do enough with or without the ball .not liverpool class

stevie- poor game, best position is off torres, needs to play there with meirles doing the alonso setting up of him thing.

meirlies - not a bloody winger roy ,never a bloody winger roy never in a month of bloody sundays roy.

torres-crap,total crap again tonight but a brilliant player

ngog- would keep him in reserves or loan him out

babel, jova, cole, aurielo should all be sold as well

that would leave us with about 6 players and also in need of a new manager after tonight. thats the reality of how crap we are

Can't agree there emp I'm afraid. I think with a better manager we have a fine squad.

REINA: He's being shown up by the defence so I don't agree that he's having a terrible season, if the defence were better he'd be as good as he's always been, there's still not many better in the Premier League than him (I thought he was off his line quite quickly tonight, just a bit unlucky).

KELLY: Class young player, great potential, will be one of the great Liverpool players if nurtured by the right management.

CARRA: NOT to be written off yet. Still too much experience to offer and will be fine with the right partner.

AGGER: Class act, perfect partner for Carra. Needs a run of games.

JOHNSON: Brilliant attacking instincts, makes us much more dynamic when he plays well. Not brilliant defensively but still a quality player. Needs a change of manager to bring out the best in him.

MAXI: Limited but can do a job until the summer.

GERRARD: Best LFC player ever. Liverpool fans are starting to take him for granted I think. Needs a better manager to get his mojo back.

MEIRELES: Quality player, needs to plays centrally though.

COLE: Def. has the ability, needs a better manager to get his mojo back like Gerrard.

TORRES: Potentially could be the best player ever to wear the jersey but is mentally fragile at moment. Needs a better manager to get his mojo back.

KUYT: World Cup winner. A true team player, don't dismiss him as a donkey, has so much more to offer the team.

Gerrard will never be recognised as a true great until he wins the league, he reminds me so much of Bryan Robson when he played for United where he was a really good player although overated playing alongside poor players, lets face it u always gonna look good alongside rubbish.

RH to leave LFC a-sap or be sacked by tomorrow mid-day and to be replaced by kenny D, Roy Evans, to steady the team, until the summer, when a quality manager, can be signed.

i am telling you, the players training for 3/4 weeks under kenny D and roy evans in charge, this team with the same players and maybe 2/3 new signings next month, will be playing good attacking football and winning games and with a bit of luck, maybe get a top 4 finish.

Mr henry, the ball is in your court.

I think emp's assessment of the performance was pretty accurate, actually. We had 3 weeks to come up with a way of beating the worst side in the league at home, and THAT was all we could come up with? The way we both set out to play and actually played would have seen us lose to any side in the UK. Pick one. We would have lost. If that's the best Hodgson can do (given that he's been saying how "satisfied" he is with the job he's doing and how bad everyone else is) then fire the f*ck and hire me, John Henry; even if everything I know about football is wrong I most certainly can't do worse, and I guarantee that I can give better press conferences.

In defense of Reina, I will say that he complained earlier in the season about being forced away from his natural game, and I honestly think he's just lost the ability to control his area as a result. He needs time away from whoever is coaching him, get back to what he knows is right, and he'll be back up there. Of course, he needs his defense to do some of the work for him, but when we line up on our 18' area and let them take potshots then there's not a lot of help out there. If we're going to give our opponents the chance to play their game and give them the possession required for that, then we are going to concede goals. If we have no plan of scoring ourselves, then we will either lose or be lucky to win or draw. And that sums up our entire season, regardless of whose fault the squad is.

Torres is a casualty of this. He's not putting in the effort because his heart probably isn't in it. He's got a new baby, it's christmas, and he comes back to a side that plays sh*t like that every day? I'd be disheartened too. I doubt he's the only one.

The fact that we played 4-4-2 with both Gerrard and Meireles (arguably our best two players this season) BOTH out of position, with a strike partnership that has been poor, speaks volumes for our manager's ability to understand what he's got in front of him.

Roy's had 6 months, and he still doesn't have a clue. He HAS to go. I'd take Allardyce over him right now.
