We have to win half our remaining games just to guarantee 7th, in my opinion. Obviously that is not going to be an even 5 wins away and 5 wins at home in our remaining 20 games, but given that we're highly unlikely to win 9 more at home our away form must improve. And that's just to get 7th, which isn't enough (not unless the FA Cup finalists include LFC and/or at least 1 side that already qualifies for Europe). Ergo we must improve away from home, and by some significant margin. Buying one or two players is not going to be enough - the engine of the entire side needs to get out of reverse. If your manager is only interested in talking up the opposition or putting your players down, then morale is not going to improve unless said manager's tactics begin to bear fruit and winning can become a habit.
Point being: Roy must up his game, but the way he's carrying on right now makes me believe he doesn't feel the fault is his, that he thinks he's doing the best he can. Maybe it's not his entirely his fault, but the man speaking with his voice is him, the man picking the team and the tactics that do not suit it is him, and the man who must ultimately take the fall is also him. The team looks to the manager for guidance when things go wrong, but instead he's laying blame and saying he's not responsible for signing Joe Cole! If this is all he's got then he can pack his bags right now.

Roy might stumble upon some form (he will be as surprised as anyone if he does because it sure as hell won't be due to his talent) but there is no way in hell that man can take Liverpool to where we were or where we want to be.

We do seem to enjoy the flogging of a dead horse.

Lets just see who he brings in, in the Summer and then we can start to judge him, only a fool judges a manager in his first season when he is still working with the previous managers players.
