So you dont think an average NET spend of £15million and keeping us healthy in the top 4 and getting us to number 1 rank in europe was a fair acheivement?
Whilst the likes of chelsea had Schevchenko(£30 million)Wright phillips(£21 million)Kezman(£20 million)Mutu (£18 million)sat on the bench,even harry has spent close to £80 million in just under 2 years at spurs,and your wondering why we are signing crap players,the money was never there to build it was always sell to buy.

I don't understand people who can be so against rafa, he has a very good record with us and apart from winning the league we done very well under benitez and he made us a force in europe, know one wanted to play Liverpool, can you ever see are current manager having this effect? no chance!!.
Someone posted earlier that Benitez doesn't fall into the "world class" manager category, well i strongly disagree, he isn't THE best in the world but he's one of the better managers in the world, were ever he goes he wins trophys, he will do at inter aswell, ok mourinho built that team but benitez will achieve things there because thats what he does.
I have fond memorys of the benitez reign.

Rafa in the last 3 years had a net spend of total of 30million pounds.

And why did skrtel play right back? You on about middlesborough away? Cus carragher told rafa he didn't want to play right back. It's in his book aswell!
Your right emp we lost the league, but we where there till the end fighting for it, more than any other manager has achieved. But the football was never dire, we always had teams on the back foot (11 men behind the ball) we just needed that extra bit of quality to turn them draws into wins, but he wernt backed to bring a top quality striker to play with torres or play when he was injured. You can say he bought keane in, but it's clear to everyone that he didn't want him. But where did that money go so we could bring someone in? In the pockets of gillet n hick or towards paying off debt

he couldn't win the title no matter what ..it was more or less handed to him in the season we finished 2nd .all the teams were crap ,we had fluked results,alonso was playing like a legend and we were clear at xmas..cue benitez imploding,dour tactics and playing for draws meant we handed the title to utd,skrtel playing right back just the highlight of wafa's madness. Its funny you should say that,i just remembered the famous "rant" and look 2 years on..neville should have been sent off,nanis goal would never have stood anywhere else and the ref blew up just as jagielka was going to shoot?Mmmh the man had a point.

for the record, im not saying i want rafa back, but i will defend him because hes far from a shiit manager people seem to make out. And people seem to forget all the stuff that was restricting the team progressing due to lack of investment in the last 3 years of rafas reign

Yeh! good points guys! you have to say Raffa won us things but like all managers the time comes when they move on, the record of trophies is there forever though, thats what will be remembered in 20 yrs oh! and no one can say he didnt get the club and the fans , FACT!

And people seem to forget all the stuff that was restricting the team progressing due to lack of investment in the last 3 years of rafas reign i would say lack of investment in his last year (summer 09) before that there were money available. not the kind of money that chelsea or united had but still enough to pay £20m for keane, £8m for riera, £8m for dossena and £17m for masch (when his loan expired) during 2008.
