What? Of the three players you mention there, Lucas gave away the
least fouls (two). Maxi was the one who gave away loads (five). You do know which one Lucas is right?
haha. I must admit I thought Lucas gave away more than that, and I wasn't comparing Maxi's foul count to his. I was comparing Maxi's play to what he's dished up so far this season. Maybe the problem with him (Maxi) was that his previous instructions did not suit his play (which goes for pretty much everyone).
My point about Lucas was that he is often caught out of position (hence the fouling), and while that's not a huge problem against Blackburn it is a problem against a stronger side. He will be forced into more fouls and the opposition will cause us more problems from them. Having said that, yesterday he was certainly orders of magnitude more effective than Poulsen (though tbh that's not hard), but he does have some way to go before he's a class act as DM. I'm a bit on the fence regarding his place in the squad, tbh. Some days I don't want him, and others I think he's good enough (and everyone now and again he has an absolute blinder and I wonder why he can't do that every time). Maybe he's just on that dividing line...
