We needed to sell the waster Torres in the summer when we still could of got decent money for the sulker, we could of then used the money to replace him with two fully fit, fully motivated players who would hopefuly really want to play for the club Like maybe that Suarez from Ajax the Uraguay feller and possibly Muller from Bayern, that would be ideal.

form is temporary... class is permanent

torres has stuck by us through thick and thin, rare to come by these days in football. how can you imply that he doesn't want to be here. his poor form/fitness would go unnoticed if we had decent back up for him

Poor Fernando, he has forced himself to stay with a club where fans idolise him all over the world, where he can play bad games and still be forgiven and he has to put up with being paid 120 grand a week. You obviously have'nt watched this shi*house this season have you, the man does'nt try, cant be arse* running and walks around the pitch sulking, look I can put up with a feller who plays a bad game but not when he does'nt try or give a f*ck like this clown. Even scoring a hatrick tomorrow wont make up for what he has done this season with all the sulking.

Torres needs to put a smile on his face or just leave

very harsh words, but the lad hasnt been fit since last march, and even then he was in and out of the squad with injuries. he hasnt played alot of football over the last 12 months aswell has having operations and alot of set backs just as he is getting back to fitness.

the lad isnt match fit, he's hardly played and regardless to what you say he is still one of the best strikers in the world and you know it, people forget far to cheaply for me. im pretty sure city would still take him in heartbeat. we've relied too much on fernando over the years, him and gerrard have carried this team. when fit he always had the ability to pop up and score a goal out of nothing. but if he isnt fit its obvious he won't be as explosive.

he's always sulked when things haven't gone his way even when he was in form, he's that kind of player. the frustrated genius. if he stays fit until january just watch mate, i put my mortgage on him scoring for fun again for the rest of the season. fair enough we've been awful this season and the players haven't performed. but FFS we're all supporters so lets get behind the team and start supporting our players (especially our best ones) and have some f*cking faith

Gotta agree with wanted. Very harsh reclaim, I think you cant blame torres for his bad form, he has assisted a few goals as well so there is committment and willingess to play. He is always playing as a lone striker without any service so you really cant blame his goal drought. We know torres can create his own goals but since he is on bad form and lacking fitness he needs help and at the moment, its not existent.

I have listened to what you have said and you are entitled to your opinion, my biggest disapointment about your comment is that it summs up pretty much why we as a club are where we are in this day and age and the problem is that it shows to much sentiment. I am not going to argue with you because for alot of people sentiment plays a big part in football but for me it's very dangerous when sentiment holds a club back and I feel thats what's happened to ours. Fernando Torres is good on his day and thats about it, problem is he does'nt reach his day hardly with either injuries or sulking, the man just does'nt benefit the club enough and thats the cold hard facts. If you want to keep him, praise him and also at the same time make excuses for him then thats up to you, from my point of view am paying nearly 50 quid a game for my season ticket and i want to see players making an effort to run around and try as well as look happy to be playing for my team, Torres does none of these things.

The never ending Torres arguement! Personally I think Torrest is a product of the 'foreign player syndrome' and the premier league TV rights sky sports explosion which makes wprimadonnas out of 10 percent of ALL premier league players of all teams. IE ashley cole . It is very important not to let nostalgia dominate the thinking of the decisions or managers and or board. This holds true from the top of the organisation structure to the bottom. For this reason I think the NESV deal will work. Shankley I imagine didn't sit around nostalgically thinking about huddersfield town or liverpool with billly liddel when he turned around liverpool's fortunes, he had new and revolutionary ideas. Thats why I am against Dalglish being a long term manager of LFC. But if we want to forget nostalgia we must accept reality, as Broughton and Purslow have done, that the club needs to go forward. Forgetting nostalgia means that the club has to make a profit (or a minimal loss, and new stadium/redevelopment)This means you will be paying a lot more for your tickets. The club is too big for one man (unless its an abramovich type-and there doesn't seem to be one) The only thing I'd say about torres is that if he were sold a few months bank what quality striker would come and join us ahead of spurs or man united, that's one good reason for keeping him alone!

we are losing money on him while he stays at the club though, we would of got more money from him in the summer rather than this coming summer.
