Aquilani is basically a CM, he was brought to replace Alonso but we just kept playing him out of position, he did well however except when played on the right
We shouldn't spend on a new CM when we have'em, specially when he's finally fit
he's not a CM and was never in the mould of xabi alonso. has to be the worst signing in the clubs history.
hes more of a player that plays in the attacking role, where gerrard usually plays for us. except he's probably used to having alot more time on the ball in italy. he's a lightweight, injury prone, half hearted player in the tackle. apart from a few fancy flicks and passes (most of the time over the top / hollywood passes) he's got nothing to suggest he will ever make it in english football never mind liverpool football club.
xabi alonso was a solid defender, started the attacks and played through balls from 60 odd yards.. oh yea and score a few from his own half. he is every counter attacking sides dream. 2 extremely different players who really dont play the same position. well done roy for getting rid. hopefully we'll get around £8m if we're lucky
