let's get real - Americans have no real interest in football clubs - why do they buy them - for money. Whose to say he won't make it more profitable - but what if he then decides to pump some of the profits back in to his true love baseball??

To make the club profitable they will have to be successful on the pitch too. The majority of people taking over football clubs nowadays are in it for the money with the exceptions of Citeh and Chelsea's owners who seem to like throwing money around for fun. I have no problem whatsoever with John W. Henry being in it for profit because for him to turn a profit on Liverpool he'll first have to make them successful. To increase the value of the club he'll need better players, champions league football, title challenges and/or new stadium. If he delivers all that then he would deserve every penny of profit he makes on the club

The darkest moments of our lives are not to be buried and forgotten, rather they are a memory to be called upon for inspiration to remind us of the unrelenting human spirit and our capacity to overcome the intolerable

good post mate and i agree i dont mind if the owners make bucket full of money as long as the team and the club is doing well. say if liverpool make 100m profit i dont mind if they take a chuck off that as long as they invest heavily in the team when needed

that sounds about right that survey, he's 2nd worst in the baseball world, it shows he's shiit even when he knows the sport.

Nice to see NESV topping the list tho with the redsox.

Broughton:

"There´s nothing wrong with being American," he said following news that the club is about to be sold to American businessman John W Henry.

"Leverage is a problem in a football club whoever it comes from and wherever you are you have to have the right people.

"These are the right people. My message is ´keep the faith´, we said we would give you the best owners. I honestly believe we have delivered the best owners.

"I understand the fans´ frustrations, right the way through the process every fan wants to know what´s going on.

"I´ve always believed the best way to deliver the best owners was privately and concluding the deal, then delivering it, not through the public gaze so I apologise for not giving a running commentary.

"I say to fans - keep the faith!"
