When wI'll people learn, Roy is a defensive minded coach, more so than rafa and equal to houllier. I said this before the season had started and got abuse saying give him s chance. When the fact is he's picking virtually the same team rafa would if he was still in charge. Are creativity is shocking, maxi is slow abd struggles to take on a player, jova isn't quite there yet for me bit was one of our decent performers yday abd torres needs needs qaulity service to him

--------------------reina

Kelly Carra. Agger. Kontchesky

jonno Gerrard. Poulsen. Raul. Cole

--------------------torres

that should be the line up next week

10-11 games. That's how many you can afford to not win in order to either win the league outright or come second by a hair's breadth). Now ok, winning and top 4 are not the same thing, but you won't find more than 18 points between top and 4th unless you go back to 2006/2007, which amounts to another 6 losses. This means to be in the running for the CL spot we're looking at 19 wins minimum, and hopefully a great many draws among the non-wins.

We've had a tough start and have salvaged a point vs Arsenal, and another away to Birmingham. In the grand view these are probably not bad results, and even the loss at Eastlands isn't as bad as it would have been had that been at Blackpool. But "using up" three of these games where we can afford to drop points so early in the season will put pressure on us to perform well for many games in succession later down the road. We know the squad is not very deep - we don't even have 25 names on the list - so those long stretches where we have cup ties interspersed with league games will become difficult unless we can build up a head of steam. The way we are playing currently though does not suggest said head of steam is about to arrive, so I guess we need to just suck it up and expect a few more disappointing results before Roy finds or creates the on-field combinations that can get us back to winning ways.

I think that it isn't so much that people are upset we are not winning, but more how awful the quality of our play is. I don't think we expect to be moving the ball like Barcelona this early in the campaign given our off-the-field issues and our fixture list, but we don't much resemble a Premiership side. *That* is galling.

Erm - my maths is a bit off. 38-17=21, not 19. We must win 21 games, which basically equates to the double over two sides and beating every other team once. For every team we fail to beat once we must win home and away against an additional side. Sounds deceptively easy, doesn't it?

The important thing is the number of wins, not so much the number of draws. So if we go out there and lose rather than draw by planning to not lose, then we actually achieve nothing. We need to be out there trying to get those 21 wins as fast as possible. For that reason alone we should have been attacking Birmingham rather than letting them show us no respect.

My point of view:

We are battaling for TOP4 finish this season - that is our priority. I don't care about the play now - because we didn't play our best XI yet - the first chance will be at Old Traford, and tbh - I think a draw is the best what we can hope for...BUT:
* 1:1 vs Arsenal at home - 1 point better than last season
* 0:3 vs Man City away - 1 point worse than last season
* 1:0 vs WBA at home - 3 points with newcomers - same than last season
* 0:0 vs Birmingham away - same than last season

We have the same amount of points now as City, Tottenham - and thay have easier games - and don't forget, that with this teams we will compete for TOP 4 (for now ManU, CFC and Arsenal are beyond our reach - because we didn't spend any mone for better players)!!!

So - stop panic and be patient - It will be a good season!!!

Cant believe this nonsense from some , yes it wasn't good yesterday but when the prince of darkness was in chrage people were happy with this type of performance , but its only been 5 league games and hodgson hasn't had his full team out yet he deserves time as much as any manager , when under the prince of darkness when liverpool played like this the quotes were " its a bad day at the office" and so on , we have lost one game this season city away played well in europe played well against the arse won at home to WBA who battered spurs on saturday and played badly but got a point at birmingham who haven't been beaten for a year at home , but its not good enough now when it was last season .

Konchesky looked solid at left back, Skrtel played because of Birminghams physical approach. Lets also not forget that the brum havent lost at home for over a year!

The West Brom game is possibly one we would have drawn a few years back and after their point against Spurs over the weekend goes a long way yo show that actually it was a decent win.

Torres needs to find some form and Gerrard needs to play in the centre of midfield when he can have greater influence.

Early days yet so lets jude Roy in May not September.

Lucas & Puolsen should not both be playing at the same time...

Poulsen and Raul as i consider poulsen the better option to Lucas. Raul Mereiles needs to start, we lack quality and he is one of the better players in our squad if he plays to his ability in this league. Few minutes he played he looked OK, no mistakes looked up for it.

Merieles has to start against the scum.

Apart from that, give Roy a break, few games in and he's getting the abuse already, and you call yourselves Liverpool fans!! haha.

I personally think he is heading in the right direction with the tools at his disposal, he will make mistakes as every manager does.

Look at the scum, they have dropped 4 points now after there opponents coming from behind, apart from chelski know one is looking solid, Citeh are stuttering after all that money they have spent. Don't panic, YNWA..

We wont lose to the scum at Anfield mate, Quote me on this after the game at the weekend.

We will draw with chelski at home, we wont lose away to spurs either, and we will beat them at home.

So theres a good few points to tally up.

Oh ye i reckon we can beat citeh at home if we have the right approach.

I don't think Roy goes into a game defensively, I think he goes in trying to get the best of whatever group of players he has around him, he has hardly been blessed with an abundance of attacking talent at Fulham or now with us. He is seeing the players day in and day out in training and making a far better informed judgment than we are able to.

I actually thought he had Fulham playing some really nice stuff though, a limited side talent wise, but especially when he had Bullard and Spud in the midfield they played some great stuff...I will be happy if he can get us knocking the ball around like they did because we have a higher quality player in most areas and should do better from it.
