Unfortunately Gerrard seems to have turned into a first touch passer who is not much more inclined to chase back than Babel. He needs to get back to basics for a minute and stop looking for a hollywood pass, control the ball and pick the correct pass and more importantly start chasing back. He seems to think he has others to that for him now. He was very poor last year and it`s no surprise our results were better when he wasn`t playing. WE NEED THE OLD STEVIE BACK and SOON.!

i think we have seen the best of Gerrard. Dont get me wrong, he is still a peach of a player and we'll look to him to rescue us time and time again. All i'm saying that it will not happen as often as in pass seasons.

If we can get runners and players who know how to run onto his passes, we will see a different player in him in the coming years.

totally agree with Dasil12 well said

I don't feel negative at all. Roy obviously had his targets and couldn't get them. I think missing out on Cole is going to be a blessing in disguise - Ngog and Pacheco will invariably get more games.

And on the subject of Ngog he looks a different player than last season - I'm starting to change my opinion of him.

Meireles and Poulsen are proven internationals, whilst Konchesky is a proven premier league left back who if memory serves me right, pops up with the odd goal.

I hope there is money in the kitty for January which will allow Roy to assess his targets better.
