ref Ant.lfc post high lighted above. Apart from the Lucas comment who I think is a decent squad player (but not first 11 yet) I have to agree with the rest. Kuyt is useless, If we have had a bid for him from Inter no matter what price, take it quick before they wake up.!

Its not rocket science that Kuyt doesnt fit into wide right in a 442 formation.

We had a left back on the bench as well as a right winger.

Would have been better to see Maxi on the right with Kuyt up top with Nando.

based on last mights performances same could be said of Torres and Carra.
Our strikers never held the ball up at all, Gerrard played well I thought. He and Lucas to be fair pinged quick passes in to feet only for Ngog and Torres to lose far too easily. Look at Tevez, ball stuck like glue and he brought others into the game by not losing possession. Carra worries me though he constantly panics, the first goal came because he dove to block the ball and missed allowing Barry now freee to tap home. Also in possession he is by far the worst player we have. where is his composure? Hypia was slow but but at least he had composure

The boss Roy must work very hard to get the players to work very hard and produce a decent display in the comming games.
What we have seen yesterday, the fear in our players tom play well and the negative play style of last season under Rafa is still embedded in them, however, some players like Kuyt, Lucas, Johnson, and useless Skrtel must not be in the first team at all, Egger should be in middle of the defence, and get a decent left back, apart from Aurelio, he is another useless below average player, I think Roy has made a big mistake by giving him 2 years contract after see the back of him in summer. Roy must clean up most of below average players that Rafa brought in over the past four years, and that is why the club football standard has gone down, and you can see that in yesterday display.

I dont understand Roy making changes in the 78th min yesterday when we had been awful for 78 mins and were out yet against Arse he made subs in 60th and 70th minutes when we were dominate giving Arse the momentum for the final part. Agger was poor but was playing in the wrong position. Skrtel IMO looked much worse and I believe should've got sold this summer because he's been poor since the injury he got against City in 08. I believed Johnson was a good signing but didnt agree with the £17m fee. He was worth £10-12m at the time. He's still good but should be tried at right-mid and Kelly should be used at RB. Salcido will be a good buy and can play anywhere across back 4. Toivonen will be good back-up and to partner Torres. Babel should be used more frequently. Plus, Reina looks dodgy for the first time, mistake against Arse and now with Tevez goal. I hope the departure of Xavi Valero hasn't affected this. Valero was our best coach and hope we got decent compensation. Lucas needs to be sold. Finally, Toivonen and Salcido funding from Masch sale keeping the rest for January and next summer giving Roy a warchest as well as takeover money for players. IMO, team should look like this: Reina, Kelly, Carra, Agger Salcido, Gerrard, Johnson, Toivonen, Cole, Babel, Torres, Subs: Jones, Skrtel, Aurelio, Maxi, Jova, Kuyt, Ngog.
