The team has to be balanced enough to take on City - which currently have a pretty good attacking line-up, but are too vulnerable in the defense. What concerns me the most is the fact that we last won against city in 2008, 2-3, in which Torres scored twice; plus City have not lost a home opening game in the past 5 years.

Also, Kuyt is less likely to feature due to the fact that his move to Inter Milan.

Kuyt isn't going to Inter so I think he'll play to be able to put lots of pressure on their defence when they have the ball as that is Cities weak point I think!

Last season's game against City at Eastlands had to be one of the most boring games of the season - why? Because we had 2 continental managers paranoid on not loosing and doing very little with selection/tactics to play offensive attractive football. Now this game to me is absolutely the key for what happens this year (and I am not necessarily talking of the end result) but if we go out there and play as if we are intimidated with all the hype around City's team and certain individuals it will be a very poor marker for Roy.

I really think this is the right time to play City, as they don't have all their sh#te together yet, and if we play with a positive formation (that means two up front)I would love to see us take the game to them and come away with 2 or 3 goals, we should be approaching this game as if we are at home.


I am really looking forward to this game but we really need to make this a statement of intent and not one of let's get our heads down and see if we can hit them on the occassioonal break!

Lucas is not a world beater granted but he is nowhere near as bad as you claim, move on man everybody without a brain has started looking for the next easy target and I`m sure you can join the flock soon.
