They can't, They agreed to the process at the time broughman came to the club. The fact is that it looks like one of there buddies ( Arye or Purslow) has done the dirty on them. In the paper today that the Interest is 3 million a week. This wont stop in a long drawn out court case.
So at the end of it all, any profit they might of made would be gone and in a worse case scenario for them they could lose the club and still owe the bank money
legally it doesn´t work like that. What will happen if the board accepts the "Kenny deal" is that the 2 current owners will be obliged to hand over their stock shares to the new owner - against the agreed price for it. After that the deal is closed and Kenny and his gang may or may not pay back all or some of the loaned money to RBS.
Now comes the next step, where the former owners may or may not go to court and argue foul play - "The board didn´t take the best bid - why?". The court will have to review the whole deal from start to finish in order to determine the "winner".
If the court rules in favour of the new owner, this probably means that the former owners have lost and that they will have to pay all legal costs for the whole "show".
If on the other hand the former owners win, then the new owners will have to give back the shares and in return get their money back.
After this the court can either rule that the bid process is to start over again, or that the highest bidder in the first round has the right to the stock.
If this process doesn´t take at least half the season to go through, then I will (gladly?) stand naked on Anfield singing "You´ll never walk alone.."
