I see the guardian newspaper have agrred with my prediction of 6th so at least someone must think what I have said is fair. I look at Spurs and think they are stronger on a couple of points, we deffo have a better goalkeeper, there full backs seem more solid defensively than ours, alrite Johnson is really good going forward but does become a bit of a liability when under pressure defending, spurs are not special by any means but considering they have the edge because we dont have a proper dependable left back they get the nod there. Centre halfs well if i was going to pick two it would probably be Agger and Dawson, if Ledley was fit and dependable he would be the best of the lot so defence as a whole might have Spurs edging it. In midfield you would have Lennon, Gerrard, Modric and probably Joe Cole thats two each, Up fron you would have Torres and Defoe so all square again. So for the first 11 there is nothing between us, now here is where I think Spurs are stronger, in defence we have Skirtel, Insua, Ayala and Kelly, to come in while Spurs have Bassong, Kaboul and Woodgate in Midfield we have Lucas, Kuyt and Babel to fight for positions while Spurs have Huddlestone, Jennas, Krankjaer, Bentley, Palacios and Gareth Bale, Up front to come in we have Ngog and probably Pacheco as we speak while Spurs have Crouch, Pavlyuchenko and Gudjohnsen. As you can clearly see Spurs do have a stronger squad in depth and I just feel over the course of the season that extra quality in squad could prove a crucial factor and thats why I think they will finish just ahead of us, it's not impossible to finish ahead of them i might add but I think we will finish 6th this season, just my opinion though.
CL is gonna kill them

i wouldnt like to predict where we are going to finish in any of the competitions this season. as long as there is an improvement on our league position this season then i'll be happy. a good run in one of the cups is always nice but id like to concentrate on the league as always and i think roy is the right man to do that

I would settle for a top six finish and a chance to play at the new Wembley in either of the two Cups, just think it's a disgrace that teams like Everton and Portsmouth have all played there and we have'nt, mostly down to a very poor previous manager who never took the chance to play there seriously and constantly fielded weakened teams in Cups.

History would point to it been Utd's year, They had the lest amount of players at the world cup and of them only shrek played all the time. To me it means the standard of player at the scum has dropped. We on the other hand have signed A great player in Joe Cole plus have kept Torres and Gerrard ( i thought one of them would have gone). 3 more good signings along with the players coming threw and we have a serious squad. I think we need to sign a LB RM and some back up to Torres.

red4life, i dont have a problem with what youre saying here, i think its a possibility, but it would be a very poor outcome and is a bit negative. we have new manager, new players, so we should be hoping for top four. but you have made a structured arguement, which didnt involve "football has gone to the dogs". wink

I just think we badly under achieved last year, and with the guidence of benitez who had clearly lost the players and the plot didn't help matters. personally I don't think spurs have got a better 1st team. The only player I would take is gareth bale, and I can't stand Lennon, for a player who constantly beats defenders with his raw pace his final ball into the box is somewhat shocking at times.

I think wel be much stronger than last year, with the fresh ideas from Roy and players giving that extra we didn't see last year. I also think youl see a much stronger midfield plus with the exuberience of the young players like pacheco, Kelly coming into the fold and with cole in the side and having better look with injurys like we didn't have last year then I think we could have a good season on our hands. also us supporters have a big role in this, it's not point blaming the players when they only turn up for the big games when the fans do it aswell, every game we should be right behind the team

I think Liverpool will finish fourth.

Chelsea to be champions again.

Blackpool to go down.
