Can't believe the lack of comments on here. Did'nt anyone watch it?
Well I thought they played pretty damned good tbh, bags of swift movement, mostly excellent passing, Kelly is going to be an absolute star, no doubt at all, Ngog tries so so hard, and that is where his problem lies I reckon, the usual suspects played very well and looked enthusiastic and happy to actually be playing together as a team, but the star of the show was COLE!
Absolutely magnificent and a total joy to watch.

Gotta say nice performance from the lads especially for the new faces. A repeat of this performance next weekend would be great.

yeh great performance jovanovic, cole and gerrard and kelly and johnston. anyone else think aqua looked like he was up for it more and like he had a point to prove? think he'll have a good season.Dont castrate me for saying this but i thought lucas did well tonight too, made a good few tackles and apart from one or too occasions always passed to a liverpool shirt.
i think pacheco looked nervous, anxious and eager to please but he'll come good if roy sticks with him.

Outstanding performance from most of the lads yesterday - repeat that with Arsenal!!!
A little dissapointed with Pacheco - but he needs to get credit of trust - and get a couple of starts - and he will get more confident. For me - Lucas and Gerrard in the middle - did very good - told you - in DM possition, when nobady wants forward play from him - Lucas is doing good job!

Aqua played some quality balls yesterday - as did Maxi also:) And we still have Kuyt and Torres to come....

i agree with you growler last night was a nice performance cole and gerrard looked very good together but we were playing a lower end of league one team also as a side note i think its going to be interesting to see how torres and cole link up 'cause hopefully gerrard will be playing CM where he should be i like the look of the team but i wouldn't get carried away

i thought aquilanni was useless. he might be up for it but he hasnt a clue whats going on. lucas was ok. the rest of the lads looked happy and compitent. pach was a little off the boil but he has enough talent to keep the faith.

ngog is really starting to get to me. he's extremely wasteful, shows no commitment, and if i see him laughing again at the fact that he missed a sitter, im going to fly over there and slap his face for him.

It was nice to watch us go and play football for a change. I know the opposition weren't that good and probably made us look better. But it was the way the game was approached that impressed me. Imagine that same game with Rafa in charge. We wouldn't have scored until 80 minutes. Good to see Kelly and more so Pacheco getting a start too. And Ngod gets himself another goal (still not good enough though and we need more than him as backup).

Ngog is still learning...with weaker opponent - like yesterday - he could be very good backup for Torres espetially with Torres's problems with injuries. He maybe don't ever be as great player as Rush, Aldrige, Fowler or Torres - but you can't say about him "completly useless"

didnt you get that sense from the team that a weight had been lifted. everyone seemed to have more freedom to express themselves, take a chance, be adventurous. bring back luis.
