I know I will probably be crucified for saying it, but I'm not overly worried if Insua is staying. 48 hours ago we had no left backs, and abracadabra, we have two. Insua is a young player and hopefully will improve ; he will have an incentive to play for his transfer. And he qualifies as a home grown player, not an unimportant consideration.
I'm afraid I would not be sorry if Phillip Degen leaves. I wish him well, and have nothing against him personally, but to me it remains one of the mysteries of creation what Rafa saw in him. It escaped me, that's for sure. This is the kind of thing LFC should be doing, moving on players who will not make it, but could do a job at a lower level. It's simply a matter of reducing the wage bill.
