Sylvinho - good shout?

Thats just silly - a 35 year old brazilian who cant get a game anywhere and he wasnt even a good player 10 years ago either.

Id rather we use english youth if he is the alternative

I think a signing like that signifies when a manager has totally lost the plot, as soon as they make a signing like that they should be sacked immediately.

For houllier it was that summer when he declined anelka and signed Diouf instead. Not forgetting Salif Diou as well

I'd agree and have Warnock back in the present situation however i don't think he is world class

When Rafa took over he obviously tried to improve every position and neither Warnock or Riise were in the top bracket of world full-backs
Warnock has matured and become a better defender in the past two years though

I remember when Warnock was sold and most people thought it was the right thing to do as he wasn't good enough. I thought the same but he has come on a lot since leaving but at the time he was sold he wasn't good enough.

I never said Dossena was world class, i said he knew he had to try and improve that area

Dossena was a highly rated full-back in Italy and an international. The fact that he was a bag of sh1te over here could be down to many things (but probablt mainly because he was sh1t )

I don't think we should be selling insua this summer, without doubt there is question marks over his defensive qualities but he is still young and improving. Last seaon if it wasn't for injuries and the lack of cover we had he would of been dropped/ rested a lot more often but coz of our injuries and lack of depth he had to play threw bad times gradually being drained of confidence. To see figueroa come in would be good I think he a solid performer and insua to have good competion for a place. If insua was to be sold I wouldn't like to see sylvinho come in I honestly wouldn't like him lining up for us against lennon and other pacey wingers who like to run at full backs, I know konchesky isn't the best or most attractive option but if insua was sold id much prefer him along with figueroa and wud be a better option than sylvinho and figueroa.

Dossena was never given long enough playing time to make a judgement, could of been great, could of been crap. But we will never know now.

i think it was more than clear that he never had what it takes to make it in england. i think he's struggling at napoli too at the moment...
