I’m sure Salah will be mindful of what happened to Couthino and Gini after they left LFC. Who knows how it will work out elsewhere but if he stays he will become a club icon with a statue outside the stadium.

My money is on him staying unless FSG commercial brains thinks otherwise.

Does FSG's blueprint need to be re-jigged slightly?

They don't like giving decent contracts to older players, however I'm seeing a definite increase in players longevity in the game.

Players approaching 30 now still have a good 4/5/6 years left in them because they are looking after themselves much better. I definitely see a trend with FSG, that they are not willing to extend contracts to players 30+ unless they take a paycut, which undermines loyalty shown by players.

I don't think we should have got rid of Gini because he was a stalwart of the team but because he was the wrong age, FSG weren't willing to negotiate a reasonable contract and allowed him to walk on a Free.

We're going to keep seeing this happen unless something changes in FSG's policy. I believe it is what is stopping them from negotiating reasonable improved terms with Salah.

I doubt they want to reduce his wages, I understood he was offered 300k a week which is I think a 50% increase, so not sure what you are talking about. Probably another one of your fake news

I said I understood and there have been numerous rumours, dont know if you got that on your fake/conspiracy channel. Haven't seen any rumours about reducing his salary as you seem to have stated in your post, ie, we reduce wages when players are after 30. So wtf is your problem, pickle head? You should really get yourself checked

Nope...again the loon you are, you're just making it up as you go along, like every other left leaning lunatic. Nowhere in your post does it mention the word "rumours".

My post is based off FSG's history with older players, which is a significant pointer to how they must be handling Salah's contract situation. If we are to keep hold of Salah then FSG need to compromise / change their current contract renewals stance.

I agree on FSG's general policy of buying young and selling at peak while they have value, but then they broke that stance with buying Thiago, which when rumoured I said no way for a 30 years old, regularly injured on very high wages with little sell on value.

So based on that, I would say FSG are willing to break their business model if it makes sense as a special case, which Salah probably does, so I would not rule it out.

I think Klopp will have a huge say on Salah and his value to the team going forward, he was a huge fan of Thiago and I think he must heave really laid the law down to FSG to bring him in when he knew he was available, as it broke all their business/financial rules, but they did it.
