I'm hearing Klopp is really interested in Toni Kroos, but at 31 and $20m it'd be a hard sell to FSG.
I cannot see FSG sanctioning another 30+ MF on very high wages/no sell on value after Thiago.
I would prefer if we were bringing in younger MF's, we have enough ageing MF who are injury prone.
So Bellingham, Tielemans, Rice, Phillips. These will cost £80m, £70m, £90m, £60m.
Get 2 of those we will be in the box seat for trophies but it's not the way we roll. It would also stifle the development of one or both of Elliott and Jones. There is a good chance we will sign one of them to supplement Elliott and Jones. After that the attention will move to the front 3 again.
But whoever comes into that midfield next has to be a sure starter. We are not breathing the same air as Chelsea or Man City when it comes to throwing money about. Even though it is a squad sport it's about getting the right player and at big money it has to be spot on.
