Also, no excuses with a full strength back line and Fabhino anchoring midfield.

Any ideas what we need to do?

So annoyed with how this game panned out and it has been coming.

Some of the fan channels I watch are quite sympathetic saying it's a one off but it isn't, there is a clear pattern happening of shakey defence with lack of penetration against deep defending. As soon as we conceded 3 to Brentford that was my red flag to say yeah we ain't winning a league like this.

The most annoying thing for the game to me was simply attitude, you can tell we have lost (not completely) some of that ruthlessness which won us the league. Are we that casual on the ball if we played City or another rival? No. We messed that game up because we no longer put the right attitude into games against so called smaller teams. We should have beaten Brentford, Brighton, 10 man Chelsea and now West Ham (although they were fantastic in all fairness). It feels like going back to our first full season under Klopp where we blew top teams away only to loose at Burnley.

We haven't really strengthened since our league win and it's starting to catch up now.

Thiago, not convinced anymore.

Mane is starting to look washed up compared to his first couple of seasons, couldn't hit a barn door.

Salah for as good as he is will never pass to let someone else score.

Midfield becoming injury prone and lacking any kind of game management.

We don't ever look particularly threatening in the final third.

That loss maybe a one off in that Alisson won't have such a poor game for the rest of the season but all the other games we have given away tons of goals is starting to become a pattern.

Not all doom and gloom it has generally up to now been an OK start but the manner of that defeat couple with Chelsea dropping points just tells me we ain't got what it takes anymore.

Still think a cup is a good bet for us but you can kiss the league goodbye. It's not over yet for sure but if we don't tighten up the midfield/defence it's going to be 3 - 4 games before we are out of it and that's too early for us to be giving up.

I think our problem is defending, we score 2 against City and West Ham, 3 against Brentford but still could not win those games. Yes, we could improve our attack as well, but it is not as important

I agree, we have scored lots of goals, but we are conceding allot, as a team, not just the defense.

We need better game management, in 2019/20, we went 1-0 and could kill a game, kee[it tight and pick up another goal as teams tired, we need more of that, we seem to be over committing too many forward when we are already winning/controlling games. Maybe some of this is due to last year when the defense was injury hit, so we relied more on Mo's goals to win games than a string defense, feels more like the Rogers era when we were winning games 4-3, 3-2 etc.

Yep but only under Rodgers, we were conceding a lot under Kloop as well but got better after we bought VVD and Alisson, especially in the EPL winning season. VVD is not the same since coming back from injury, especially his speed. We struggled on set pieces as well as in the old days

Yep, we did not appear to be well prepared for set pieces, everyone knows West Ham are dangerous at them, so it is a surprise we did not do better with them, they hit the bar from another corner, so we were not good.

I think VvD has done ok, but it will take time to get back to his best after so long out, Matip has looked more off the pace for me, maybe Konate should have played with his physical strength and power, easy to say in hindsight.
