Overall yes, the 2007/2008 season he had a poor season. but he was by far our best player 2008/2009 season.
Look how our mnidfield played last season, no creativity at all no one feeding Gerrard or Torres(when he ws fit) the balss required. Only when Aquilani was actually allowed to play we saw that type of passing and attacking begin again.
Mourinhio was quoted when asked how Chelsea would do aginst us in the CL (even though he wasn't manager) "Stop Alonso and you stop Liverpool playing", that's what Avram Grant's Chelski did that year.
Alonso's and Arveloa's departure had a real knock on effect on Masch,Torres and especially Gerrard last season. As Rafa would of put it "FACT".

Keane - Should have never bought him, but also should of never sold him. would play... but would prefer the big guy furthar down the post!
Finnan - WAS a good servant to the club, no point in having him now as cover, let one of the younger lads come in as cover, darby maybe.

Warnock - a lot better than what we have, would make my starting 11

Riise - Would take him back now even if he his getting a little old.

Bellamy - Poor attitude, shows with the amount of clubs he's been at.

prior to rafas sales we could have a strike force of torres, crouch and keane. Much better than what we have now dont you think!? lets hope roy does a better job... im sure he will

The only one I'd take back is Crouch. We really could have done with him last season.

Wouldn't mind bringing back Stephen Warnock. He's a solid player who's a hard-worker and can defends. Either as a starter or as a sub. Either way, he'll bring some good to the team.

Although, it's unlikely we'll buy him back.

I would love Warnock to come back!! But the player that never should have been sold is Alonso. What a great player. I miss him, he hardly ever miss a passing and never gives the ball away.
