i think Gomez has stepped up since Fab's injury. hope he keeps it up and not go back into his shell once Fab or VvD is back.
I think he continues to lose his head every now and then, the last time being his header against West Ham. For me he is a Lovren but with pace
With VvD out I think he has taken on more responsibility, as he is the experienced CB, cannot be easy with CB pairings swapping all the time, in the last 4 games he has played with Fab, Phillips & Rhys Williams, this experience will improve him.
I noticed a 50/50 tackle in the game the other night he stayed up and didn't leap in, to avoid injury/booking I guess, so things like that he is being more responsible as he is needed, he is still only 23 even though it feels like he has been around for years.
