One way you could look at it is they feel comfortable. The feel like the club has faith in them as a squad. Another way of looking at it could be a lack of ambition. As a player, there will be those who want to see and be at a club where they're constantly bringing through or signing world-class players to play alongside and help the club be successful. There is a reason why Chelsea was Werners second choice. Look at the players they are bringing in that he'll be playing with. It's an exciting new project that any player would love to be involved with. The lack of ambition in the most recent transfer windows is a recipe for complacency. It risks things becoming stale and players like Mane could have their head turned just as much because of that as they could us bringing in another player that could compete with him for his position.

We need one or two, a tweak here or there. Tsimikas was a shrewd like for like purchase. We don't need Alcantara at 29 unless Gini goes to Barca. Would like to have seen us get Werner n bed him in for next season when one of the the front three will surely move.
