If City's owners had took over, would we now have the likes of TAA & Robertson in our team? I doubt it, we would have some cut throat Italian or Spanish fullbacks for £50 million each who are only interested in their £££ and the next move.

FSG were also very clever/lucky to get Klopp, without him I doubt we would be where we are now.

I prefer where we are now, we know we earn't this and it was not easy.

City has been more successful than us including since FSG took over and we would have overtaken Manure on the number of titles won, if only for that I would prefer City owners.

But I prefer how we achieved our success, no doubt with City's scatter gun buying players we could have won more with allot of mercenaries at the club, but I prefer how we do our business and build a team.

Ok, for me the most important is to return to the top spot on number of league champion titles.

So if Man City owners had taken over, spent crazy money on players/wages(like at City) and got to 21 titles surpassing UTD, then we got done for FFP/cheating, banned from Europe and the butt of everyone's comments saying you cheated for your titles, that would have been ok?

For me that makes the titles worthless, I prefer how we have done it under FSG, maybe not as many titles, but at least we earnt them and won them fairly, it's not just about how many titles you have, it's you earnt them IMO.

if liverpool had more money there is no saying we would have breeched FFP like city. We are a huge global club we could have done it within FFP.

Winning the title fairly ? how far does handicapping yourself go ? shall we play the youth team? no external signings ?

To begin with, as I said in my opening post, as we were a bigger club than City regarding fan base and notoriety, those endorsement fees wouldn't have been an issue as it is for City, they are getting advertising revenues similar to United which is more realistic for a club like Liverpool.

Secondly, IMO FFP is not fair as it favours big clubs like United, Real Madrid, Barca, Bayern even us who are well ahead of others in terms of fan base and cannot be caught. How fair is it when you compare our spending power to Bornemouth for example?

City spent huge money on lots of players, we could not have afforded that without the City Owners, so I am guessing it would have failed FFP.

I never said FFP was fair, but it is the rule, so if you break the competition rules, it is cheating.

FFP tends to keep the big teams big and the small teams small, I can see the sense of it, to stop clubs overspending and risking their future, looks at how Leeds & Portsmouth heavily debited themselves chasing glory, which caused the serious financial problems and they nearly went out of business.

I still prefer how we have achieved our success by buying/selling well and developing players under Klopp, I would not have liked a City type owner splashing cash and buying leagues with aload of mercenaries.

I agree if the owners were not putting their own capital to spend but if they are, there are no risk of the club going bankrupt, so it is not fair to a small club who can climb the ladder with the help of its owner.

In any case our path to glory wouldn't have been as steep as City because we were much bigger and had better players before the takeover.

We were lucky that we ended up with Klopp else we wouldn't be where we are with FSG

Why are we ‘lucky’ to have Klopp?

Well, because he became available after FSG tried 3 managers, they were lucky that the trial and error ended up working. Even with our luck City won much more than us since they got their new owners, the won the league with 3 different managers so the merit goes to their owners more, can we say the same thing, we also changed as many managers but only won the significant trophies with Klopp.

It’s not luck though is it? He was available at a time when we needed a change so offered him a job and he took it. How is that luck apart from the timing?

If we were lucky you could say City were with Pep. He’s the only one to have them consistently good. They may have won things with their other managers but who wouldn’t with their money and financial doping going on?

They won it under Mancini, Pellegrini and Pep, we haven't won it yet though we will, but only thanks to Klopp. So FSG were lucky to get Klopp whereas City are lucky to have their owners. Quite easy to understand
