If the rumours are true about Young I think the 15 million O'Neil apparently wants for him is too steep. If we were to get him maybe we should think about throwing Babel or Riera in the deal. I think Arda Turan is the better option and he would be alot cheaper.

i'm really surprised about your take on this. how can javier mascherano not deserve a regular place in our side theres nobody else to replace him apart from lucas or plessis? just mad the way you say if he we sold him it would be asset stripping of the club then go on to say you dont rate him. hmm

but anyway i agree that he can be replaced though, id just like to see us sign a left back and maybe 2 wingers and or a centre mid and a back up striker for when torres is out, a big target man. if we could find a fairly cheap and similar replacement for masch it would surely benefit the overall strength of the team if we bring in some quality.

the club is expected to be sold lets say within the football calender season at the latest (fingers crossed). til then theres no getting away from our financial status.

the way i see it at last resort masch goes, a cheap signing like g. silva replaces. so, to pair somebody who plays masch's role with somebody like parker would be a good idea for sure. worked so well when alonso was in the side. then make that position priority next season allowing us to hopefully invest a little more. possibly in somebody like schweinsteiger.

it depends how roy hodgson decides to line us up formation wise. he says he's keeping changes to a minimum but it will be interesting to see his own spin on the team.

under benitez we played 4 at the back then 2 almost holding centre mid (worked really well with alonso/masch in the side because xabi could playmake from deep and advanced posistions... [oops] with lucas/masch they're too alike). 2 wings, centre forward then striker.

i would welcome joe cole, it seems like a bargain but if its £120k a week wage works out at around £12.5m in 2 years plus a signing on fee. he seems most likely to join a london club but it would be nice to see him a red shirt, i think whatever teams he joins next he will play some of his best football if he gets regular place.

i reckon arda is a much better prospect although i wouldnt say ashley young was a bad signing at all. depending on the price that is, martin o'neil tends to drive a hard bargain. especially for a player he payed around 11m for?

i would keep dirk kuyt as squad player not an automatic first team regular same goes for lucas. would u rather see us spend a little elsewhere and have kuyt drop into to the striker role from time to time or just go and buy a new striker?

Apparently we are after Fanni, who is quite good but no better than kelly & hes 29 years old, if we buy him we can move johnson up, give kuyt to stockport county or something & put fanni in right back, with kelly in cb, and also apparently ronaldinho wants to come to us, hes not as good as he was but is better than our "creative players" now, and i'd put him behind torres and hazard and m'vila, 2 would be brilliant buys, and also taye taiwo from marseille who seems to be good, and next season we could have a team like this..
