World Class players are pretty rare depending on your definition. If they're at the top of their game they're probably playing for a top top team and will cost over £100m to prize them away. Not many purchases like that these days.

Personally though.. I'd say VvD & Allison could be considered world class buys. Top players in their position, just a season away from the likes of Real Madrid consdering them worth the gamble.

Players like Mbappe are out of our league and I'm not sure desirable for Klopp. We want slightly less fashionable players who have huge development potential, or maybe the likes of Werner who are currently below what the big spenders would consider a 'marquee signing'.

Bobby's going through a baron spell but still a joy to watch at times. As mentioned, if we were struggling you'd understand the worry but we really just need competition up top for the first choice 3, and Origi's not the answer.

Dont know why Mbappe wont be desirable for any coach/manager unless he is mad, I could understand if Mbappe had an attitude problem but I haven't heard that. Mbappe is completely out of our league, only 3 clubs, maybe 4 can afford him, Barca, Real, maybe Juve and City but the latter could before their FFP problems, they know they are watched

Klopp likes to develop players and turn them into top players, like he has with players like Aubeyang & Lewandowski, Mbappe is already a superstar and to buy him Klopp would have to use all his budget (and probably more by selling a Mane or Salah), I'm sure Klopp looks at the £250+ million he would cost and thinks he can get 5 or 6 top players for that money he can improve and suit his style of play.

But if FSG turned up with Mbappe and said we just bought him, Klopp wouldn't be unhappy and would happily work with him, I just don't think it suits Klopps style to do that.

So as I said, it would be about money available but not the quality of the player, I dont think there is a single manager in the world who wouldn't wish to have Mbappe in his team right now, however, a very few can afford him and definitely not us

I didn't just mean a player of his calibre, I meant in the full context of price tag, budget, development etc as above.

It's also a huge gamble. With £250m Klopp could have us dominate for a decade. With one player who knows what'll happen, maybe his knee goes first game or he doesn't settle/suit JK. Unlikely but also a lot of managers get a kick out of improving players and not buying trophies. Klopp's like the anti-Jose.
How much sweeter is this season beating City's oil money into submission.

In fairness, your only argument for Klopp not wanting Mbappe is his price tag, which is an issue for FSG, not Klopp.

It is also Klopp would not want his total player budget for 2-3 season spent on 1 player, I think he would want to spend that much money on specific players for his system, like he did with the Coutinho money, he took that Coutinho money and spent it on VvD, Alisson & Fab, bringing in the players he wanted.

TBH there shouldn't be any issue currently with player recruitment.

Just follow these simple rules:

UNOBTAINABLE

Messi
Ronaldo
Neymar
Mbappe

EVERY OTHER PLAYER

Fair game

FSG can't pull the "no money card" after the current success and lack of recruitment/spending in this seasons transfer windows.
