Plenty of us could see the value of Bruno Fernandes - particularly in the sense that he is a creative player as well as, apparently, being full of energy. Really disappointed we didn't go for him. We just don't seem to have a creative midfielder in the squad. I think UTD will be a different proposition next season. Our whole squad looks like its been over-used for three years - which is probably near the truth. This Summer we will either buy three / four top players, or we'll fall behind. It'll take more than bargain basement to sort this out.

Indeed, he would also have replaced Coutinho's long range shots which we never did

We replaced Coutinhos long range shots with goals. The amount of times he hit high and wide when there was a better option was too often. It’s nice to have that from a player but he did it too much for the amount of them he scored.

Keita was supposed to be the Bruno Fernandes type player.

Shows how Klopp is now losing faith in Keita, didn't even bring him on today. You'd think with Henderson out, Milner who was out, Wij was Out, Fabinho was out that Keita should have made a midfield position his own by now.

One of Klopp's priorities end of the season must be to find that dynamic box to box player Keita was supposed to be.

No we didn't, we were scoring more before Coutinho left

In 15/16 we scored 63. 16/17 we scored 78. 17/18 we scored 84. 18/19 was 89. Were on 56 this season so far with 9 to play so maybe a bit down. So 17/18 Coutinho goes in January and the following year we score more goals.

We scored 48 goals with Coutinho still here but let’s not forget he didn’t play in all those games (14 out of the 21 played until January).

So looks to me like we’re scoring more now (in the league at least).

You have a point for last season when we scored quite a few from set pieces but we are scoring less from the midfield, especially long range this season

Why does it matter if they’re from long range? Do they count for 2?

We’re scoring more. That’s all that matters not where they’re scored from.

We've scored more last season, I was talking about this season when we are huffing and puffing in a lot of games and we've scored 56 with 9 games left. Last season Mane scored 22 from Coutinho's position but we would be much better if our midfield could score like Fernandes does regularly, even before he was bought by United.
