As I said previously, they can still rest players but don't make such a big noise about it and try to make the FA look bad. The FA are in a difficult position and have already made efforts to accommodate a break for the premier league.

Even if we were correct, some battles are just not worth fighting... or better fought at a different time. I just feel this is one of those for use. Such a healthy position in the league, a positive totally positive atmosphere around the club, a treble winning opportunity and some players needing game time. We didn't need the distraction and perhaps should have seen the replay as an opportunity.

Also, if we de wrap up the league early, we could rest players in the league games and focus on the Cup and the CL. Not often that happens.

Yes they knew that but what if we had been drawn v City or Utd or Everton in R4 and drawn? Would they have expected both sides to put out full strength teams in the break week?

It's a bit like the FA etc. knew we had a World Club Cup to play in but still scheduled a quarter final the day before we were taking part in the WCC. Obviously on our previous seasons we didn't get that far and they took a chance on that by not rescheduling games. Thank God we didn't get through because we would never have managed the extra 2 games in the semi finals.

I don't see why we should help them out of their mess.

All this mess has been created by both The FA and The Premier League...why Klopp and The Club are being criticized is just plain wrong.

Carragher spoke out in support of our stance but still criticized Klopp for not being in attendance? Klopp deserves a break with his Family too, he may not be physically fatigued like the players but he definitely must feel psychologically fatigued.

All PL clubs received a letter in April 2019 from the PL asking clubs to respect the winter break and not to organise international friendlies or competitive games. The FA should have been aware of this beforehand and made any reservations to the PL before all PL clubs received the letter.

Yep, that's the long and short of it IMO too. It's either a winter break or it isn't. Clubs, players and management need to be able to make arrangements for the break without having to cancel or interrupt them. It's typical of the FA's muddled thinking.

But who is not getting on with it? Maybe the club had planned a weaker team all the way as the cup was never a priority.

yeah... sorry. Had a quick glance before I started this one and see the other one until after I started it.

I'm not sure what the fuss is about. Play a weaker team but one with a few seniors who need/want game time. Minamino might want to impress, Lallana, Keita, Origi etc. Should be more than enough.

Like mentioned it's an extra few days at home and I assume Klopp won't be having a nice jolly with his family somewhere and switch off from the small matter of winning the league. He can go with the squad if he wants, just don't play the league cup team.

I know it doesn't hold the magic it does but would none of the players really be bothered if we were knocked out so they could join the first teamers for a few extra days?

Klopp has planned his break and probably already gone. As regards to the few senior players, don't think it's very easy to just fit in Critchley's team and system, maybe we have a better chance to play the team he is used to.

Wonder whether the FA has the power to dock points or sanction us for fielding a youth team and without Klopp’s presence.
They may not have a case but wouldn’t want anything to jeopardise our PL title bid.

I just can't believe what I am reading not only on here but across other platforms, it seems the fans don't want to win trophies anymore.
