Now we have clubs trying to copy what we are doing. Signing players younger. Dismissing certain players because of the sell on values.

I think we are doing our own thing. Come January we might be doing our own thing again.

We are not looking for players who are looking for a big pay day and we are not looking for those who want to use us as a stepping stone to sunny Spain.

It's not about the right player and the right time it is also about their attitude to coming on lower wages to start with us leading to a big payday with us than a huge £150k contract from day one with City or Scumchester.

Have a look at other players at other clubs and ask would we pay them £100k + a week to maybe sit on the bench and both player and club be happy about it.

Not spending big, are you serious? We spend 200m or so last summer, more than anybody else and we go on to win the CL, coincidence you think? I am not saying we have to do the same but definitely need to have a cover for Mane and Firmino with one player preferably instead of sleeping on our laurels/dosh

You really have lost the concept of conversation. You obviously do not read posts properly or comprehend what I was saying. You really are a total imbecile. You put your typing finger into gear before starting the car. Go and look in the enough of for your latest errors.

I don't know what the hell you are talking about, calling me imbecile because you cannot argue is stupid. What were you saying, we don't need to spend when I showed you that 200m of spending brought us the CL?

I think he was pointing out that Klopp said he would not spend big before he did last summer and so what he says at one time can change in another.

If that's the case then what's the point of going by what Klopp says.

Haven't seen a charity shield match taken that seriously in a while. Frustrating furst half, promising second. We looked the better side, and we really should have punished them for letting us create so many chances. Bit gutted, if I'm honest.

Don't think anybody is taking the result seriously, anyway it was a draw in a friendly. What I am frustrated with is no good replacement for Mane who will be a big risk to play regularly after playing so many games for a year. Are you happy with Origi there? If you are then we'll agree to disagree.

If Shaquiri was ready, I think he would be one to fill in, so I feel like it's a moot point. Origi has always been a CF, but he can dribble and has pace, so as a fill in on the wing, it's not the worst.

Origi looked pretty good though. He had one really bad touch that made me roll my eyes, but aside from that, he did pretty well. He had moments where he drove at defenders and made things happen, won some free kicks, created chances, and made things happen. I don't think he had a bad game. The only performance I was really unhappy with was Wjinaldum, apart from Allison's error.

Personally, I would love a Werner, or someone else to spark the front line a bit more, but Shaquiri and Origi as rotation players aren't that bad.

Don't think Shaqiri will fit on the left wing, Klopp wants left footed wingers to play on the right and vice versa, so he is more Salah's cover IMO. I don't think Origi is anywhere near Mane so yes frustrated we didn't buy somebody like Werner who can also play in the centre for Firmino. But we'll see, maybe Mane will play all games or Origi will surprise me, we have no other choice.

Both of Origi and Shaqueri are like the curates egg, they're good in spots, and that's about as much as can be said for them, they're not title winning quality or consistency in my opinion. If we want to beat City to the title we need a player able to play a cross the front with less of a drop in quality. Relying on Origi, Shaqueri or any of our youngsters tells me we've not got the ambition to win the league, unless it falls into our lap. And by the way we also need to sign cover at fullback as well and now you could eve n throw in a goalkeeper. Given that we have the obvious need and the resources, it can't be defended, nor can it be described an anything other than a craven lack of ambition.
