Leipzig just bought Lookman from Everton in anticipation for Werner’s departure. Werner won’t sign a contract extension with them so Leipzig now want to sell to make sure he doesn’t go on a free. Bayern have been sniffing around for sometime but feel they can get him on a free rather than pay for him now. It’s a no brainer for me to drop 20 to 30m now on a player Klopp rates highly who will bolster our attacking options no end. The fact FSG don’t mind selling a star player for a big fee to pay for further additions which is likely next summer with Probably Salah or Mane, we may as well have somebody up to speed when it happens and Werner would fit the bill. If ever there was a season to bolster our forward line this is it with plenty of opportunities this season for everyone.
Another good shout. Perhaps with the lateness of the returning front 3 there is a chance Klopp wants new players to gel together. Most new signings we make game until October to get regular games. Thinking here of Ox, Shaq, Keita, Fabinho.

In quality terms Keita is the best of that three, but we should be signing a versatile cover for our front three, and at least one full back, but ideally also another as Moreno is gone.

We don't have the money.
We have given all the star players improved contracts instead of buying new ones.
I'd be shocked if we get another player before the window shuts.

Yes, but this also proves that the American owners stand by their ethos of not spending money we don't have.
One could argue we should now strengthen while our stock value is high, but since the wallet aparently is empty, that will not happen.
We either need to sell in order to buy, or we'll have to wait for better times - next years' new kit deal might make us afford a new player - if we don't need to improve any other players' contracts and find the wallet still empty by then.

If that is the case, then I cannot understand how the wallet can be empty after a record revenue year.

The merchandising sales of Liverpool FC gear and TV deals worldwide dont appear entirely in the official audit.
FSG are making a fortune out of brand Liverpool.

Seems odd if there’s no money? We won CL, 2nd in PL, got Sturridge and Moreno off the wageroll, sold Danny Ings for 20m, sold Melwood...trying to trademark the name Liverpool and song “Allez, Allez, Alex”...along with the record tv money for being most watched club!
Seems that John and Tom are the old misers from Trading Places and Klopp is Eddie Murphy!
