We’d all like new players but the window is only just open ffs! You’re talking like it’s shut already. So City have bought a player and so have Spurs. Means nothing to what we will do and who we might buy.
Yet to you that’s it. Season over already because those two players were signed and we haven’t signed anyone yet. There’s over a month left. You don’t know we won’t buy any more than I know we will so why not just relax and see what happens rather than fill every thread (with your brain a like mate welshie) with the same old negative drivel?
As for calling you names? Where? If that’s all you’ve got to justify your tiresome negativity in every thread then it says it all. Don't you think we should sign a top forward who would start the pre season with us because all our 3 forwards will come late and might not be fit enough to start the season? If you don't, fine it's your view, but I don't agree. Last year we made our purchases or at least started the negotiations relatively early with both Fabinho and Keita joining very early and Alisson deal was being negotiated. I don't see the same this year which is making me think that we wont go for a top forward, I wish to be wrong but more often than not I haven't for example when I felt we wont buy anybody in Jan or won't win the league when City got ahead. You called it negative, I call it being realistic from what I observed. Last but not least, look at the FU we did while negotiating the VVD deal, they wanted 75m which we ended up paying but 6 months late and without much negotiation in Jan. Like I said, we all want to improve and that entails signing players. I include myself in that. It doesn’t matter what we did last year. Keita was bought the summer before and Fab was a quickie. Just because there’s not much chatter about us doesn’t mean nothing will happen. And worrying about it when the window has just opened is a little premature.

Every summer these dull debates occur. Not even a CL win can slow it down.
- FSG are good owners, not great - They're businessmen, not locals, fans or oil rich sheiks. - Klopp doesn't get unlimited cash and decides not to buy, IMO. - We have an ok net spend. We can thank Klopp for getting us where we are. We need to invest to stay there. - We'll never compete with City and FSG know. It doesn't make sense to when they've rigged the game. - Klopp's clearly an Einstein level genius when it comes to players. He'll get what he needs. If he doesn't and leaves, then we can the picketing.
Things could be a lot worse, we could've given Rashford £300k a week (or have Sanchez on £390k). Megalolz. Completely agree.

And I can be like a 3 year old - throwing the toys out of my pram - if things don't go my way. But to be negative and moan when it's the 3:rd of July is far too premature imo. If it doesn't look better around 1 August then I will start to worry - not before. Today Lille's president has confirmed that we have made enquiries about Nicolas Pepé, so it does look like we're moving in the right direction - behind closed doors as it should be.

I would like us to buy an addition quality forward, but if we do not, its not a big deal to me. This team and players are improving all the time, the extra belief and confidence from last season will push them on again, last season set a new marker, which I think Klopp needs to learn from, like UTD away, we should have pushed on for the win with Utd struggling for form and injured players on the pitch, we seemed to settle for a draw, as a point at Utd is usually a 'good result' in the scheme of things, but the bar has been raised with City and now it isn't.

Depends what you mean by big signing? I don’t care how much we spend as long as the players bought are going to improve us. So if you’re talking about £100m players then no, I wouldn’t be worried if we didn’t spend that at all.
Klopp knows what he’s doing. I think he’s proved that much hasn’t he? So I’ll trust his judgement on knowing what the team needs. He won’t buy for the sake of it or to appease the fan base.

I agree with you, Klopp buys for what the team needs, rather than a big name, like we did with Robertson, most of us (including me) were like, who is this from a relegated team! Just seems to a general feeling that we need to buy a couple of players at £70+ million, i'm like you, more about getting the right player than how much we spend, we have spent big on the likes of Andy Carroll in the past and he never fit our system.

It seems to be some kind of fifa generation thing to me. Just buy anyone for the most money regardless or dummies are spat. We used the scatter gun approach with Rodgers and how did that turn out.

I would be very worried if we don't sign a player of Firmino level to rotate with him, I doubt Origi is that player despite him doing well when called while Firmino was not playing. Same regarding Mane but I think Ox can play in his position.

I think we need a good lb and a top formard to rotate across the line up top.
Then we're sorted for the upcoming season.
It's up to Klopp to accomodate for those players in the right fashion, so that we get the most out of them and the rest of the squad.
Ideally I would like the lb to rotate on both flanks, so we keep all 3 fullbacks fresh and up & running. The same up top. I don't think there's any use signing a player like Firmino Mk II and put him on the bench. He needs to play regularly. At least 20-25 games a season in all competitions.
What we can/will play the next season is: 38 games in the PL. Max 10 games in CL. Max 6 games in the FA Cup. Max 6 games in the League Cup. Community Shield. UEFA Super Cup and lastly max 2 games in The Club World Championships. So that's a total of max 64 games (min 49 games if we go out as early as possible in all comps).
Rotating 4 players evenly along the front line will mean each of them will play somewhere between 36 and 48 games (3 of 4 games each).
Rotating evenly amongst 3 fullbacks will mean each of them will play somewhere between 32 and 42 games (2 of 3 games each).
Not bad at all that. Even if Klopp doesn't play them exactly evenly, there is a good chance they can pick up at least 30 games, which should be enough to encourage even a top class player to join us.
