How many of us get the feeling that this will be a negative spend window?
During last night Red Sox baseball game, JWH said he was most looking forward to the return of AOC and Lallana, implying both would be like new players, this is the age old answer when no big money signings are to be expected.
Money in so far 20 million for Ings and 7 million for Camacho.
Money out 1.7million.

I’m sure we’ll break into the positive once Cech and Lavezzi join.

Have a similar bad feeling I agree, normally when we are linked with players it rumbles on for weeks and weeks and weeks, at which point we either sign them or the deal breaks down. This window we are linked with implausible players mbappe coutinho which we all know are not likely to happen. It is as if FSG think that by winning the CL and finishing second they can rest on own laurels, not reinvest, and bank the CL, PREM, transfers out money this summer.

I don't think the lack of spend is because of FSG, I'm sure if Klopp went to FSG and said he needed £70 million for a forward, FSG would back him, John W Henry said as much after the CL final, but I think Klopp is happy with the squad and thinks he can/will improve the player he has. Brewster nearly left, to get him to stay I think Klopp has made him a serious promise to bring him in the team, there is allot of hype around him (not seen him play myself) but it reminds me of when Owen was coming through with everyone being certain he will make it at the top level. We have Clyne to add to the negative spend list.

Brewster looked really good but has been injured for a year or so. Who knows. I thought people at Liverpool knew that every season you need to add some good players or go backwards as other teams will add players.

I saw those comments by Henry and they do sound alarming but I think we should stop blaming the owners. If Klopp wants someone he will get him no matter the cost. If nobody of note comes in, it's on Klopp shoulders. It's been quiet but I feel we will make 1 big signing at least.

Klopp's certainly an astute buyer and I can't see him ever buying a ready made superstar, or Coutinho back with the way he left. I just don't think if FSG said 'you've got £100-200m this summer, no worries' Klopp would think 'Nah, I think I can get more out of Origi and don't really need LB cover'.
The squad's in great shape where we just need a couple of players a year, better than those leaving. I'm sure Pep's happy with his squad, but he's still snapping up £40-50m players.
