Initially fifa cancelled the club world cup and decided to host an extended version before the world cup but they have decided to bring it back in its current format for all continental winners. I am glad they did because this trophy has never been won by the club so I would love to see us win it and add it to the collection. They only downside to this competition is we have to play it mid season so we will be playing catch up on the league. We are entered in the semi finals so its 2 games only.

We also have another chance at silverware in the Super cup against Chelsea who have sold Hazard so we won't have to worry about him so again another great chance to win a trophy, I hope we win both as that will complete the CL set.

Next up is the Community shield against Mancheater City, another one off game and another chance at winning a trophy, it would be great to beat them and set a marker for the season and also gives us the shield which we haven't won in many years.

Finally the domestic cups need to be improved on, year after year we crash out in the first or second hurdle which is annoying and keeps us waiting for a Wembley final another year. The draws have not been great for us recently but the club needs to start taking them seriously and hopefully with a better squad next season we will start seeing results.

Personally, I think there is a great opportunity to add some trophies and build these lads up expecting more and more everytime they play a final, I know some of these trophies are meaningless to some fans but I would love to see the lads scoop some or all of them.

Rumour has it the club has asked to be withdrawn from the comp, Fifa said no.. We inquired regarding sending U23 side - Fifa stated we are obligated to send the best squad to Qatar for the comp.....

So I am lead to believe.. Think it played late Dec / Jan, not the best for Xmas period, no.

Maybe we can pull out of the FA Cup like the fecking Mancs did - can't ruin the Fecked cup anymore...Bet we would be denied that if we asked the FA...

I can see this seriously impacting our PL challenge with a fixture backlog and extra games if City are anything like they were the last 2 seasons (no reason to think they will not be).

Why would it impact our season? Its only a 1 week event. City were playing catch up until the last weeks of the season, it didn't bother them as they ended with 3 trophies.

Here is a quick breakdown of our season the next one...

Liverpool’s fixtures 2019-20

Pre-season tour to US – 3 matches (20-25 July)
Community Shield – 1 match (Date TBC)
Premier League – 38 matches (10 August-17 May)
European Super Cup – 1 match (14 August)
Champions League – 13 matches (17 September-30 May)
League Cup – 6 matches (September-February)
Club World Cup – 2 matches (December)
FA Cup – 7 matches excluding replays (January-May)
Total: 71 matches (68 without friendlies)

Qatar is before FA 3rd round, 8.5k round trip to Qatar I believe in the busiest period of the season...

I think it's in Qatar's winter so temps will be warmish but not stifling hot. The problem I have is mid season to a place known to violate and flout human rights laws. There's also the fact "if" at the time it's turning into a 2 horse race again - Us v City, how easy would it be for the players to be nobbled out there? Let's face it there was a few players who got ill on our last trip over that way, end of January to Dubai and we all know those folks don't play by the rules!

Snakes - City got two teams, that most of their players would get into most PL sides, that the difference.. Our subs are not as good at mo, meaning NO side has the depth of city.

There's a reason they being investigated financially...

It's 2 games believe as we eneter at the SF phase, but also travel. Xmas is the busiest time of the season with fixtures in short spaces of time and the FA Cup, City have a stronger squad, so could cope with the fixtures better than us, they can bring on the likes of Sane/Mahrez/Jesus/Gundogan, if this PL is as close as last season, this could be the thing that is the difference.

This is assuming we are challenging City at that stage of the season? If not I'd rather go and win a trophy that the club has never won before.
