There's another angle to this. What's wron with someone wanting to spend so much money on a club?
The danger is a club can be put into huge debt and risk going under buy risking it's future, that's what happens with the likes of Leeds & Portsmouth etc, so I think Uefa were trying to stop that, which I can understand.
It's all about sustainability I guess, the likes of us, Man Utd, Arsenal etc are ran from club income, so they are sustainable, you look at Chelsea and City and they are bankrolled from personal wealth, what happens if the owner gets bored or circumstances change and they pull out? players are on big long term contracts, this has happened to lots of teams in Europe, so I can understand why they want to have controls in place.
Problem with FFP is it keeps the big club cartel safe and takes away the dream for small clubs of someone like an Abramovich coming in and bankrolling their club into a winner, like Jack Walker at Blackburn, they were in Division 2 and he bankrolled them to win the PL, now he's passed away and they have dropped back down to their 'normal' level.
