it's absolutely the right time to sell him now. In truth he is not a good footballer but was in the right place at the right time on enough occasions for us to be very grateful to him. Outside of the goal he was negligent with his passing, could have been costly. Isn't that part of being a good striker?

Not the player to do this rotation thing that people want but good enough for a different option.

I agree, he's a good alternative, but he isn't straight cover to rotate with the front 3, so we need to bring someone in to do that. I would like us to keep him, but I think it depends what Origi wants, also, his profile has been raised over this CL run, wouldn't surprise me if a big team came in with a £30+ million bid, so might be too good to turn down for us & him, whatever, he has earned what ever he does.

Watching the game again, apart from the goal he has been crap mispassing easy balls forward.

If you look at stats from any striker their number of passes is very few compared to a defender. It is because in those areas they are generally outnumbered and receive the ball under pressure. No such thing as an easy ball forward. All other passes are build up play to gain territory and move opponents around. The forwards have a harder job finding each other.
I agree that Origi is not a like for like player and you wouldn't start him but he gives you something different. In those games when you need a late goal you often get it from such a player. If you feed your opponents with more of the same you will get the same result. Other than fresh legs you get nothing more. Change the type of forward who is maybe stood 4 or 5 yards away from the player he replaced and suddenly you change the dynamics of the attack.

We won't sell to a rival. He hasn't done well abroad. The fans love him here. He won't get played and paid better anywhere else. The lad puts the effort in but maybe for his abilities he is in the right place. When we needed something he stepped up. A £60m signing will not always give you that winner from off the bench. I don't think anyone will pay £30m for him unless someone like Palace or Watford are in the market for a striker. But for what he does for us that is his value. Maybe more now?

I am not comparing him to a defender and not even looking at the stats but the passes he missed in the game. Yes he is hard working but lacks the skills on the ball, but it's true that he has shown an eye for the goal lately. We'll he be able to continue, I suppose things will depend on this.

He is getting back to the player he was before his injury, I think he has matured now, he gets in far better attacking positions and takes shots, like the goal against Barca where he was in the box and last night, too often he would be on the wing area and not in the box. He will never be the most technically gifted in the team, but we don't want 11 payers the same, he is something abit different to the other attackers we have. He has shown consistent improvement this year, so we should continue with him, I think he has a year left on his contract, so we may want to sell if he won't sign a new deal, also depends who we bring in, we have been linked with the likes of Werner, if he comes in, I can see Origi leaving. Sturridge, Ings & SOlanke have left, so unless we bring in another striker, I can't see us selling, Brewster is young and inexperienced, so we cannot rely on him. Whatever happens, he can leave with his head held high as a Champion of Europe !

Origi is an out and out striker and was bought at a time, before Klopp, when he complimented the way we played. Regardless of his goals and impact, I believe that if he was playing for another team right now and was on the market, he wouldn't even register on Klopp's radar because he doesn't suit his/our style of play.
That said, we do have him and he is an excellent impact player to bring off the bench as well as an unknown quantity for our opposition.

3 shots on target in two UCL games, 3 goals. He's worth keeping as an option off the bench. I think we need one more striker with Sturridge moving on, but he's got pace, can run with the ball at defenders, and he can finish.
